Love this at home IPL treatment machine from Braun. I bought this about 2 months ago and it's been a game changer. I can do these treatments in the comfort of my own home and not spend the $$$ for salons. I love the carrying case too so I can take it with me during my summer travels

I've been using the Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 IPL for a few weeks now, and I'm already seeing visible results. It's nearly painless, super quick, and fits perfectly into my busy schedule. I love that it works on multiple areas—including my face—and the skin tone sensor makes me feel confident using it. No more shaving every few days—this is now a must in my weekly self-care routine!

I have done 5 treatments on my chin hair and armpits and it WORKS!! I have barely any hair growing in my armpits anymore and chin hair is so much thinner or not growing at all. Started on my legs and already see results also. The photo I'm attaching is post 5 days shaving armpits.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For a reference I have medium colored brown hair that is naturally curly and fair colored skin. I have wanted to try the salon laser treatments but never could get past the cost for it! I wasn't sure how this machine would work for me especially considering a majority of the ingrown hairs I would get would tend to be curly hair trapped under the skin. I expected the IPL to just help limit how quickly the hair was growing but it exceeded my expectations by also limiting the amount of ingrown hairs I would develop. I have only been using the laser treatment for 2 weeks and I notice the hair that is regrowing is a lot finer and a lot more slow growing than it used to be. My bikini line for the first time I can ever remember is SMOOTH! As advised with the instructions I wouldn't use this deviceh in any area that is inflamed at the time of treatment. I don't notice much for pain at all anywhere it just feels a little warm to the skin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 is a good quality and reliable home IPL system. This isn't my first type using a home IPL but I still made sure to do a patch test as recommended. I liked that the SensoAdapt automatically adjusts output power level for skin color/tone. There are useful lights on the side to show you the level being used. There are three settings (standard, sensitive and extra sensitive) but I mostly used standard after a few patch tests. I liked that it recharged relatively fast between flashes so that it didn't take a long time to finish a session. I have committed to using this mostly on my lower legs and underarms, so I don't really need all 3 different sized treatment heads. However, I do like that I have the choice to change the size if I want to do a smaller area. I didn't find the flash to be too bright but I did look away as is recommended when in use. The controls are easy to use and understand. I found the construction of the machine to be well made. It is easy to hold in my hands and comfortable. The ergonomic shape does mean that it does take up a bit of room. I was surprised by how large the base station was but I do like that the plug on the cord is small and easy to plug into outlets without taking up multiple spots. I don't think it will be easy to travel with due to the size of the base station and the machine (not impossible though) but I also don't see myself wanting to use this on vacation and don't mind using this only at home. The included pink case is really cute and pretty, even if unnecessary and bulky. The divisions inside make it annoying to remove the device since there are three levels with the cord, machine, and base station on separate levels so you have to pull everything out. It is still a nice touch though and makes the whole process feel special. While this system can be used by a wide range of skin and hair colors, the technology is really only for some and I like that the box and written materials are very clear on this. I do wish they had more information on hair growth cycles and how IPLO technology functions so that consumers have a more realistic understanding of what to expect. Use is not recommended when your skin is tan so these winter months are a great time for me to use this to get ready for the warmer months. It takes 12 weeks to be finished with initial weekly sessions, so I cannot speak to the end result but I am looking forward to seeing what happens.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unwanted hair is every woman's first enemy and being an Asian I have black hair on fair skin which is very noticeable I started using Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 PL5137 IPL and started seeing results very quick in the first week itself the hair growth decreased and after 2 weeks or so I hardly shaved totally in love with it the design is very cute and handy coming to the usage to start with it stings (nothing compared to waxing though) but you get used to it so my recommendation is to start with slow setting and increase as you go and after few uses my pain is tolerable now I use it everywhere specially hands,legs and armpits.This Braun model is amazing compared to the expensive salon visits and professional treatments. I think the fact that it can be used at home and delivers the same kinda results for a fraction of price is awesome now I will be ready for the cute spring dresses and summer beaches totally recommend it

I wanted to use this product for hair on my fingers and toes, but even the precision head is too large for these small areas, so I can't get it to activate. So disappointing!

I loved this at first. It did a great job in getting rid of/reducing and lightening hair. The reducing and lightening was something I was surprised by, I assumed it would just get rid of all hair but it didn't on some parts. Ie. My arms, some areas might just not be dark enough for the IPL though. What my biggest issue is the hyperpigmentation after (which apparently is only an issue for darker skin). I have light-medium skin, but after using the IPL for 12 weeks, I noticed blotches all over my legs. Obviously this is pretty distressing. Not sure if it goes away either. And I followed everything they suggested about avoiding sun/using sunscreen.

My package is arrived today and noticed that its used! There are so many scratches on the battery, and the velvet material inside the box clearly shows that it has been used before. I will never use something that has been used by someone!! What kind of brand you are? How come you put the customer stupid? New box always smels NEW and the things are always seems NEW! I didnt pay for the refurbished one i paid for the new one! You gotta send me the new one or take it back!

I've been shaving my chest for 20 years, and decided to give this a go instead of trying it at a salon. This thing left a horrible, itchy rash all over my chest. The itch lasted for a couple of days, but the red spots lasted a couple weeks. Two weeks later I (stupidly) tried it again, hoping for better results. I got the same, itchy rash. In the end, I still had all my hair. Some of it turned blond for a few weeks, but none of it left. Complete waste of money and dignity.
