Braun ThermoScan 5 Digital Ear Thermometer, FSA & HSA Eligible, White, IRT6500US

Needed an ear thermometer. Last.month hubby wasn't feeling well. We had a forehead themothermometer. He had his electric blanket cracked up as he was cold. But he started acting confused. The highest the thermometer went was 99.9. He has had urosepsiss in the past and from 98 to 104 in 8 hours with no symptoms. He got delerious and of course the oral thermometer didn't work. I ended up calling 911. When he got to the ER it was 105.5. They said not to trust the outer skin themothermometer. I almost lost him. They said if If I had waited any longer he wouldn't be here. So my first store delivery included this thermometer. It's easy to use fast and accurate. Includes 20 ear covers. Had I had it prior. My husband would have gotten to the hospital sooner.

The best thermometer we have ever owned by far. Easy to use even on my little one. Very consistent temperature readings especially compared to forehead thermometers we have used in the past. The ear covers are easy to replace and cheap and sanitary. For the current price (about $40) I think this thermometer is totally worth the money!

This has been so helpful this flu season! Easy to use and the design is great for the bedside table. Comes with extra covers for the tip. We definitely recommend!

This is the second Braun thermometer I've purchased. It is simple to use and quick to read your temperature. I found Walmart to have the best price with a very reasonable delivery time. I'm very happy overall.

I had to use it immediately upon arrival. It's much better than the forehead scanner that I was using. Easy to use with accurate readings. I'm glad I made this purchase!

Works great however, the screen doesn't light up so if you check your temp in the dark you will have to turn a light on to see what the reading is. Flaw in functionality in my opinion.

Works great. But it doesn't work without a plastic sheath to sit over the tip. and the plastic sheaths are disposable and very weak. comes with 20. But after one winter, I have to buy more.

Braun is a reputable brand that I've liked in the past, but I have to agree with those that said this isn't reliable. I just checked my temp 4 times back to back and got the following readings: 98.2, 99.4, 99.8, and 100.3. It's easy to use but unfortunately seems to have issues getting the right temp.

I received a used thermometer. The batteries were in the thermometer unwrapped and the thermometer would not turn on. I had the exact item for years and needed a replacement. When I received the original batteries were wrapped in plastic. The package looked as it was opened. Sad. I had a $15 gift from Walmart used and now that does not work when using the promo. Will contact CS. On top of it I had to pay return shipping for a used item.

I ordered this item with curbside pickup. Walmart gave me an item that had clearly been returned by someone else. It was clearly a resealed item and there were missing pieces. If Walmart is going to sell items as new that have been returned by others, they should at the very least make sure everything is there. Looks like I'll be the second person returning this item.
