Seems efficient
I usually buy the toastmaster because it heats up fast and doesn't take long to burn my charcoal but they were out of stock and they don't last long. I've had this for almost two weeks. The knob is very hard to turn and it is low. It's not as fast to light my charcoal but it seems like it will work efficiently. It's also 1000 watts whereas the toastmaster was 1500 watts and would make my breaker jump.

Heat dial
Dial backwards, the more you turn toward low the hotter it gets and vice versa. Other than that it's stable and works fine.

This item was working fine and It was pretty strong for just a single burner. And then it just died on me. I did pay the extra dollars for my protection plan so I hope I can get a new one to replace this 1
