Just bought my second Oracle, had the first for approx eight years. Was absolutely thrashed but well maintained. Went in for repairs (t/stat), then several years later (today) was tripping fuses. Bought a Oracle black sesame to suit remainder of the kitchen. Started using it & it is a dream to use, it is a quality machine that delivers a quality product. By the way I am a service tech that repairs many types of equipment & would not hesitate to keep purchasing this product. I'm not for the fancy touchscreens I prefer some manual buttons although it does make light work
I have used a pod machine for several years and wanted to upgrade to a decent machine and this is it. After the first few coffee's whilst you get your grind size and beans sorted the coffee is spectacular and so easy to produce. I am really pleased with the Oracle and hope that it will keep producing for years to come
We have been using this machine for close to 8 months now. We have always had an espresso machine, but this one is the top of our list now! It is reasonably mess free, and just about anyone can make a good cup of coffee. Take the time at the beginning to learn the grind and tamp strength of your beans, and any hot water steps as well, and it makes a *great* cup of coffee. With many of the steps that create issues with coffee taste automated, it helps remove the guesswork, and the need for teaching your family exactly how much pressure to tamp, etc. The ability to froth milk automatically, or manually really helps those wishing to learn milk texturing as well as the guy who just wants a dang cup of coffee! The auto on feature makes my mornings so much more pleasurable! I get up, the cups are warms Dan the machine is ready to go!
You can get carried away with all the tech features other machines have, breville included but this machine is by far a grade ahead of all others with the exception of the rest of the oracle range. If you take coffee seriously buy this you will thank yourself later.
We recently moved to a new property and as part of the move the intent was to finally have a quality coffee machine. After much research we pur chased the Oracle to provide the advanced automated functions to maximise efficiency, accuracy and quality output whilst still allowing user customisation to cater for different tastes and beans. Setting up and getting started was so easy. I had read about the importance of bean selection and sought out a local coffee roaster to obtain fresh beans. With some experimentation with grind level and milk texture level we are enjoying great coffee when we want without driving to the shops or cafe. We had a friend visit who owns a restaurant and she was vvery impressed saying it was as good as they make with their commercial machine. We love it and look forward to drinking great coffee for years to come. Thanks Breville.
The machine did not reach operating temp at set up and it took 5 days to troubleshoot and fix the problem. That said the Oracle is easy to use even for a novice and 1st espresso better than many cafe's. My frustration is with operating hours for Perth - 6am to 2pm!
Straight out the box and manufacturer settings the coffee was nice but only 18 m pour on the single and 21 on the double. Let the games begins. Over a kilo of beans later we finally have a coffee we both enjoy. No bitterness or sourness.Slightyl syrupy the way we like it. but still a couple mil short of 30 for the one shot and 50 for the double. Will leve it for a while, as when I had the dual boiler the coffee improved with the wear and adjustment of the burr grinder.
Enjoyed this machine for a while and diligently kept it clean, descaling regularly, cleaning as soon as notifications were made, as well as cleaning the group head after each use… however the coffee basket handle broke requiring replacement, other wear and tear issues were not too difficult to fix however when it started to break down after only 2 years (as soon as the guarantee expired) requiring expensive repairs each time it became a case of throwing good money after bad… and after only 2 years, for such an expensive machine… 2 repairs starting only 2 years after original purchase should not cost more than the machine itself. On top of that I can't get anyone from Customer support via phone, email or chat…
I bought a Oracle around 2 years ago. It makes great coffee. Unfortunately my first machine malfunctioned after about 8 months, water would just pour out the long black port for every coffee - not through the coffee head so it was unusable. This got repaired then about 16 months in the machine malfunctioned again, it would short out the power in our kitchen. Breville replaced the machine. Im 6 months into the new machine and now the grinder has just given up, it sounds like it is going to start but just stops, if i try too many times the machine just turns off. I was told the warranty doesn't start again with my new machine so i have had to take it to a electrical dealer to hopefully repair. So, it works great when its working but this is the 3rd fault in two years with 2 machines. Its really disappointing for such an expensive machine.
Failed within 18 months of purchase; it's been away getting repaired under warranty for more than a month now. For a top-of-the-line product, I'm not satisfied with the reliability, or even with the quality/taste of the coffee (when it WAS working!)
