Great combo lock for the pool fence

This Brink's Brass 3-digit Resettable Combination Padlock is perfect for all-purpose use. It is weather proof so it is perfect for my shed (so now I can take my rusted one off). I like the combination, as I seem to always misplace the shed key over the winter months. I like the way you can set your own combination so you can program it to a number that is familiar to you. The description states that it is lightweight (which it kind of is), but you can feel the weight of the brass to know that the lock is built for the best security. The shackle of the lock is made of steel which is noted to be a great cut resistance material. Another great feature of this combination lock is that it can be reset to another code if you chose to change it. I am very satisfied with this Brinks lock.

Good deal as expected

I guess my favorite part is you can change the combination to something easy for you to remember. I've had countless locks that I forgot and the combination to you and then you have to throw them away. Not this lock you can set it to something easy and if you need to later you can always change it. Great design high-quality and they did not skimp on materials to make it.

Received this Brinks 3 dial resettable lock as a member of the Spark Reviewer Program. Slim lock that is actually attractive and is nice and heavy. Will be used by my collegiate Son to secure his bicycle on campus. As for the durability cannot yet say as he has not returned to campus yet.

So, I needed a replacement lock for our privacy fence gate as the old lock was in poor condition. The disks wouldn't turn well and in my opinion , it was a cheap lock the previous owners and thrown on there. Over the years , my family has trusted Brinks products to use in our home…. This lock is a very very good quality heavy duty brass lock. It has only 3 dials so it's much easier to recall your secret combination and I have to add, the combination dial wheels turn so o easy and smoothly… that's a plus with old fingers. Lastly , it's weather resistant … made of brass… it can stand up to the elements as well as the text of time. I highly recommend this lock if you are looking to buy a resettable heavy duty combination lock.

Brink's 40mm Brass 3-Dial Resettable Combination Padlock This is a heavy lock for its 1 ½” x1 ½” size, weighing in at 6.7 oz. 3 digit combo that can be changed very easy by opening the lock, twisting the top 180 degrees and pushing it in, then select your new combo. Its that simple. So if you are going to keep the lock in a drawer, keep it open and you can select what ever combo you want when ready to use it. Of course, this is a 3 digit lock, so its not going to stop a lock picker as it only has 999 different combos, but its great for going to the gym, luggage when traveling, etc. This is a great lock to keep honest people honest and not making you remember a 4 digit combo or the other dial lock combo's. I like it.

I'm not sure how secure this padlock is because unlike the old locks that I'm familiar with, this lock doesn't have a notch in the shackle that inserts into a deep hole. This new version has a hole that is only about 1/4 inch deep. It appears that the locking mechanism is at the rotating end of the shackle. It locks firmly though and feels very secure. The entire mechanism is very solid and has a nice weight. Setting up a combination is very easy. The instructions on how to set were a bit confusing though. Step 4 instructs to turn the shackle 90 degrees which did nothing so I skipped this step and was able to complete the combination setup. I easily reset the combination, skipping step 4, several times.

I needed to buy about 12-15 of these as I had problems with theft of livestock (due to covid). I had about 4 out of these that have seized or the tumblers malfunctioned. They do have the replacement warranty, which is great. I did expect a little better from the Brinks name though. The remaining locks are working beautifully and I have not had anymore stolen livestock.

I really wanted to like the brinks padlock, but I could never the lock to change the combination from the original default. We tried so many times and the instructions on the back were easy to follow, but the only time I could ever get it to lock was With the original combination of 000. The padlock is made of a good heavy brass.
