I heard that they plan to redo the series with the the same star--but make him use an American accent and set it in America. I think that will ruin it. One of the best things about it is the English "flavor" and..well...the British accent is adorable.
You will have to stay up late because you won't be able to stop watching this series. It was very engrossing!
This series has much to recommend it, not least of which is David Tennent. The entire cast creates a remarkable atmosphere of an idyllic town forced to face the stark realities in a child's death. Using a trend I see more frequently in British television of each episode digging deeper into the details of a single story line, the effect of this is phenomenal. No longer are mysteries cozily solved in an hour. This places the observer(me and you) in a new position. We must use our brains, looking at all the details and pulling them together to determine the murderer before the detectives. Usually not to difficult to solve the case from our armchair in an hour, but the wealth of detail causes us to scratch our head and rethink the solution. Bravo and thank you to the writers, directors, producers, and actors; you have just taken the wonderful cozy British murder and brought it into the 21st Century. I look forward to season 2 of Broadchurch.

I love this series. I love the town, the people, the whole thing. The story is very good. I love the twists and turns. Not to mention David Tennant. He is absolutely a delight to look at and listen to. I will probably watch this series again and again. I will probably start watching "Dr. Who" also.
Watched the series on my lap top. Forgot to sleep on the plane, because it was gripping. The ending was absolutely masterful. Don't want to give it away.

DVD worked fine. Broadchurch is good, but not in the same league as Endeavour or Vera.
This was a fine drama. The story was intriguing and the twist at the end very clever. It dragged a little occasionally towards the end. Characterization was good. The mix of people were believable for a small coastal town, and they were well delineated, including the children. The photography was wonderful---some of the beach scenes were breath-taking. I bought it because BBC mysteries can be fascinating and this was.
i like because item was placed btw storm door and front door. not on steps. thanks.
