I bought this to replace the one in my home that finally died of old age. I was delighted that the same design still existed and I could simply pop the old one out of the housing and replace the motor with a new unit and not have to mess with removing & reinstalling a different housing. It was a very simple procedure and I was pleased how quickly it could be done. It seemed a bit loud, and it may be my imagination, but seems to draw even better than the old one did.
This is exactly what I needed to replace the malfunction unit damaged by the builders of my home. Fit perfectly. Works perfectly. Perfection.
strong fan that fit right in where the weaker one was. best price
Replaced the motor housing from the same exact model that lasted me 20 years. Finished in under 30 minutes after cleaning up all the gunk from years of use. It's noisy, but hey you know it's working. Other's are so quiet, you wonder if they are even working properly. Would recommend for a small / medium bathroom.
Went to my local hardware store and found this unit. Unit was easy to wire and mount. Like the ease of not having to use any tools to take the motor out or put it in. This unit replaced an older unit that was on its last leg. Night and day difference and a lot quieter..
Does a great job of turning over the air in my 60 sq ft bathroom when the shower is running. It is louder than the fan it replaced, but I don't have to run it nearly as long. 5-10 minutes after the shower is done vs. 15-20 minutes with the old fan.
The 671 fan was an exact replacement for the 21 year old that was installed with the house. The removal of the old fan and installation of the new went as described; not quite as easy as the video I found in the internet. However, as others have noted, it is VERY loud. It is probably twice as loud as the old fan even with the squacking bearing. Maybe a 2 speed switch could be offered on the fan motor which might, hopefully, reduce the noise level.
We installed this replacement fan in 3/4 bath. The fan is strong and clears shower dampness very efficiently. But it is loud. If the instructions for replacing the fan with a plug were clearer, I would have been able to replace the fan myself rather than hiring someone. Since the existing fan plugged into the ceiling, it was very easy to replace; no wiring or going into crawl space was required. The instructions didn't say how to remove the existing fan (same type). Since we were replacing an existing fan of the same type, I wish I could have purchased this model without the housing; I just had to throw out the brand new housing; a waste of money and materials. Overall I would recommend this fan for a replacement; this one fit into our existing fixture perfectly. If you are installing a new one without an existing opening, then I would suggest you look for a model which is quieter. Our old one lasted 22 years; I assume this model will be as reliable.
unit was easy to install, and is not to loud, normal fan volume.
This product is detrimental to users living in apartment style bathrooms and shold not be recommended unles sone level can be adjusted or compatible product is made with a more tolerable sone level.
