I would recommend this to anyone. I also purchased the rotisserie set and made my first chicken on the grill. I have also fried fish and Freedom Fries on the outside burner. Only things I will change are the base and the drip pan. The sheet metal is flimsy and I am constantly rolling the grill in and out from underneath the eves. With the flimsiness, the doors will sometimes hang up on the inner edge of the upper side of the grill. The drip pan was not fully functional until I bent the tabs holding it in place. I had a messy greasy buildup in the cabinet because the grease was not draining properly. I will add some supports to fix this.
I've had my new grill for a few months now and absolutely love it. I did a lot of research before I purchased it and am very glad I went with Broil King. It's a very solid unit and gets hot very quick. The cook on it is better than any grill I've owned. I purchased many Broil King accessories and I'm very happy with them as well. The only modification I did to it was remove the warming rack, I found it was in the way when you had a full grill of food. It can be popped back in quickly but I never use it anyway. If you are on the fence about what to buy go with The King!
I've cooked many meals on this new BBQ. It has performed very, very well. I am very impressed with how quickly the unit heats up. I am impressed with the even heat distribution. I am impressed with the amount of cooking space for the price point. The assembly was easier than I had expected. Overall, I am very impressed with this unit. I had high expectations and those have been exceeded.
We bought this unit several weeks ago for several reasons. First we have had a Broil King for the past 6-7 years and have enjoyed excellent service and support from Onward Manufacturing. Secondly compared to other major name brands the Features and Value of this Baron for small spaces cannot be beaten. It fits nicely on the balcony of our new Apartment style home, is attractive and grills steaks just great. Do not hesitate to invest in this fine Canadian Made Product. It is not made in China
This unit had everything I wanted in a new barbecue. I've only had the chance to use it a few times so far but it has definitely met or exceeded my expectations. I did have a problem with the assembly as the interior support does NOT line up with the pre-drilled holes and I had to drill two new holes in the bottom of the cabinet in order to do the install. What's up with that? I don't like "all picture" instructions and would likely have had a much more difficult time with assembly but for a truly wonderful step-by-step video on youtube. Gotta love youtube. :)
My previous BBQ was a westbend that I had for over 30 years. This one seems pretty solid especially the heavy stainless steel grates. Time will tell how the burners igniters and fancy lights will hold up. The rotisserie is good, the motor strong and quiet. I also got the searing element which is great for steaks. The only fault for me were the casters. They would be fine on a patio slab or deck but I keep my bbq in a shed and even with a ramp the plastic base immediately began to bend and fail. I replaced the casters with larger ones and bolted the plastic base to the metal frame. An option for larger wheels and a stronger base would help
Lets say I have been cooking out doors for many years summer and winter (all year round) and when we bought this unit to replace my last BBQ we looked at many all singing foreign built units but they did not compare to the quality that went into building this Baron. I am completely satisfied with the way it operates and cooks all different meats and veggies including the family pizza. The control of the heat is excellent and the ease in cleaning and starting is the best I have seen. There are only a couple of additions I would like to see and that is a digital clock or timer and a built in light. Other than that this is a great BBQ that I would recommend to my friends.
Great barbecue - my second Broil King; I like the smaller size - nice and compact. Neat looking, quick start, good cooking! 2 suggestions: 1) should have a place for a drip tray, like the "King" 2) make the assembly instructions less complicated - perhaps by colour coding. The same instructions were used by 3 models - propane, natural gas and but all the instructions were not needed. Confusing!!! Wasted a lot of time looking for extra parts etc. Colour code e.g. n.g. blue, propane red then the reader can pay attention to what is needed. I finally discarded the directions and figured it out myself much faster!!
Bought the Baron 340 almost a month ago & LOVE IT! The battery ignitor is excellent & the way the burners are laid out provides even constant heat on the entire grilling service. I will have to re-adjust my temps & cooking times as the last thing I bbq were deeply flame-kissed, burnt beyond taste! This is my 2 Broil King bbq because of the high quality of the product. Happy griller in Napanee, ON.
I had very high hopes for this grill. I done lots of research and thought this was going to be the best grill compared to a Weber. While the grill is very nice looking and seems very well built, the flare ups are horrible! I admit I have only cooked burgers, but they are the 80/20 variety. From the time I put them on, until I take them off, it flares up constantly. Not happy at all with that. I replaced a 12 year old CharBroil, and I never experienced the intensity of flare ups with it as I do the Broil King. I think it has to do with the pans that cover the burners. I had better luck with the tent type that was on the CharBroil. Any suggestions?
