Bought this approx a month ago, and love it! Great bbq, great quality recommended to all. Was checking out other bbqs but were too low quality , can't immagine a bbq where the lid can twist will last long , this baron 440s no twist and heavy! Don't plan on buying another for a long time!
Had a larger Weber for 12 years. We were looking at another Weber and the salesgirl said we should look at the broil king. Glad she showed it to us. While the Weber was good this one is perfect for us now. I can BBQ just as much as I did on the other one so the smaller size which was our concern was unnecessary. Great all round BBQ. Would definitely recommend
I've had my new grill for a few months now and absolutely love it. I did a lot of research before I purchased it and am very glad I went with Broil King. It's a very solid unit and gets hot very quick. The cook on it is better than any grill I've owned. I purchased many Broil King accessories and I'm very happy with them as well. The only modification I did to it was remove the warming rack, I found it was in the way when you had a full grill of food. It can be popped back in quickly but I never use it anyway. If you are on the fence about what to buy go with The King!
I would recommend this to anyone. I also purchased the rotisserie set and made my first chicken on the grill. I have also fried fish and Freedom Fries on the outside burner. Only things I will change are the base and the drip pan. The sheet metal is flimsy and I am constantly rolling the grill in and out from underneath the eves. With the flimsiness, the doors will sometimes hang up on the inner edge of the upper side of the grill. The drip pan was not fully functional until I bent the tabs holding it in place. I had a messy greasy buildup in the cabinet because the grease was not draining properly. I will add some supports to fix this.
Bought this a month ago and haven't regretted one moment. No trouble putting together. Use it about 4 nights per week. Great not having to keep clicking the starter - electronic start works right the first time. Have done various steaks, kabobs, salmon, hamburgers, chops, etc. Easy to control flame/heat. Great BBQ tips found in the included manual & recipes. The two sided grill is an added feature. Keeps the meat moist. Perfect size for our family but big enough for company.
This unit had everything I wanted in a new barbecue. I've only had the chance to use it a few times so far but it has definitely met or exceeded my expectations. I did have a problem with the assembly as the interior support does NOT line up with the pre-drilled holes and I had to drill two new holes in the bottom of the cabinet in order to do the install. What's up with that? I don't like "all picture" instructions and would likely have had a much more difficult time with assembly but for a truly wonderful step-by-step video on youtube. Gotta love youtube. :)
Lets say I have been cooking out doors for many years summer and winter (all year round) and when we bought this unit to replace my last BBQ we looked at many all singing foreign built units but they did not compare to the quality that went into building this Baron. I am completely satisfied with the way it operates and cooks all different meats and veggies including the family pizza. The control of the heat is excellent and the ease in cleaning and starting is the best I have seen. There are only a couple of additions I would like to see and that is a digital clock or timer and a built in light. Other than that this is a great BBQ that I would recommend to my friends.
The good... I purchased this grill a few weeks ago (early summer) and have used it approx a dozen times. It gets hot quickly and cooks fairly evenly. I like the design of the grates... they're heavy duty grade and sear meats nicely. Anything I BBQ'd on this grill so far has come out very tasty! Flare ups are not too much of an issue even with the greasiest foods and marinades. Now the not so good... even though the grill has never been exposed to rain or significant moisture, the grates, the burners and the burner guards are rusting very rapidly. I brush the grill down after each use and never use water on any parts whatsoever. I even checked the vinyl cover and it's not leaking at all. I can only conclude that this is a defect in the metal composition. It will be interesting to see how the manufacturer responds when I request replacements parts.
Bought the Baron 340 almost a month ago & LOVE IT! The battery ignitor is excellent & the way the burners are laid out provides even constant heat on the entire grilling service. I will have to re-adjust my temps & cooking times as the last thing I bbq were deeply flame-kissed, burnt beyond taste! This is my 2 Broil King bbq because of the high quality of the product. Happy griller in Napanee, ON.
I had very high hopes for this grill. I done lots of research and thought this was going to be the best grill compared to a Weber. While the grill is very nice looking and seems very well built, the flare ups are horrible! I admit I have only cooked burgers, but they are the 80/20 variety. From the time I put them on, until I take them off, it flares up constantly. Not happy at all with that. I replaced a 12 year old CharBroil, and I never experienced the intensity of flare ups with it as I do the Broil King. I think it has to do with the pans that cover the burners. I had better luck with the tent type that was on the CharBroil. Any suggestions?
