Amazing BBQ

dcking44 August 11, 2014

We've had this BBQ fro about a month now and we couldn't be happier. We have a lot of the accessories. The stainless steel burners/grills/outer frame is great in this area where moisture from the ocean has often caused rust damage quickly to other BBQs we had that were basic metal, even if covered. It starts quickly every time. The accessories are all very high quality and all stainless steel as well. The rotisserie works great! We've used it almost everyday. Very easy to clean. Adjusting the heat takes a little practice to get it just right, but once you have it figured out it will cook food perfectly each time. Very happy with the BBQ!

Love this BBQ!

SandyS June 3, 2015

We were looking for the perfect BBQ for us, and I think we found it! The Broil King Regal 420 does not have a side burner and a rotisserie does not come with it. These are things that we just don't use and didn't want with our new BBQ. But what the Regal 420 does have is stylish curb appeal, as well as roomy 500 sq. inch primary cooking surface and 50,000 BTU's of heat in the 5 burners. The Cast Iron grates are reversible so that you have two different cooking surfaces. It cooks evenly with minimal flare ups, and the end product is perfection! We really like the sliding propane tank shelf that is inside the cabinet. It makes turning the tank on and off so much easier...no more getting down on hands and knees! The wheels on the bottom roll smoothly and lock securely when set. All in all, I think this is a great BBQ. It is exactly what we wanted... Quality without the frills. And it is made in North America. I would definitely recommend this one!

Better Second Time Around !

Corky June 3, 2015

Our new Broil King Regal Pro was recently purchased after 10 years of faithful service from our last Broil King. We seriously examined the other two equally-reputable brands but remained with our brand due to reasonable value, past experience, and the fact that Broil King offer their top model(s) at only a modest premium. The last Broil King was not without "issues" .. such as a warped bowl and a quickly-rusted out metal catch plate below the bowl. However, we felt these weaknesses had been adequately addressed on the new top model (10 year burner warranty etc.) with changed design. Assembly was easier than many reviewers posted .. just go slow and FOLLOW the instructions. Yes, a couple of screws were difficult to align but not a big deal, and the lid pins required a hammer and WD-40 for me to insert due to post painting over holes during manufacture. (Note to BK .. alert customers to this in your instructions). Our first steaks on the stainless grid were amazingly well seared following very fast warm up. If anything, I will have to re-learn my temperature control tricks ! Finally, this model is totally North American-made .. no Chinese parts .. and THAT gives me an additional sense of satisfaction !!

So Happy With My REGAL

Firemanbill April 12, 2016

I Have had my Regal 420 for one month. Assembled easily myself. Quality is second to none! My family have had Broil King Bbq's for 25 plus years.....they're simply the best you can buy for quality, and design. What sold me on purchasing this time is the fact that Broil King is covering their burners with the 10 year warranty, which is now the same as some of the other brands that command, sometimes, a very high price. This grill has wonderful even heat, my cast iron grids sear the steak beautifully. I love the size of the cooking surface. Im confident in its design and manufacturing as it is a family owned Canadian Company. I would highly recomend this grill.

Regal 490

Neil June 10, 2014

I have been using the grill for a few weeks now and am very happy with my choice of this model over the Weber grills I was considering. I am most happy with the ability to maintain a cooking temperature. My previous Frigidare grill was virtually impossible to maintain constant cooking temps. The grill is very easy to keep clean after each use which is also a plus for me. Assembly was not difficult as the picture instructions were fairly easy to follow. I recommend the careful use of a powered screw driver as some of the fasteners should be started by hand before tightened down with a powered driver. Also, if you are using a natural gas unit, be sure to confirm that you have the correct connections to your gas supply before starting assembly. I finished assembly and then needed to wait until Monday for the local gas vendor to open and buy a $2 part before we could actually use the grill.

Regal review

jace73 June 17, 2014

First time Broil King buyer and I'm impressed. Heats evenly and it's so much easier to grill than my old 2 burner bbq. I also like the roll out for the propane tank. Assembly instructions could be clearer in certain spots but overall not too difficult to follow.

The Tradition Continues!!

LongLiveTheBroilKing August 11, 2014

I have had the Broil King Regal 440 (gas) operating for about a week, and the items I have cooked so far (chicken, sausage, potatoes, ham) have come out exceptional. The heat distribution has been extremely even, and the side of the grill which keeps the juices underneath the meat has performed beyond what I expected, keeping the meats moist and tender. Can't wait to try some steaks this weekend. Broil King continues to make great Q's. My first BBQ was a Regal, and 16 years later, the tradition will continue.

Features

Tugger March 5, 2016

Love the rotisserie feature with the rear burner. In fact have used it just as much as the main griller. Bought this product in August and absolutely love it.One suggestion I would have : make the slight feel between High and shut off more pronounced when turning the control knobs from low to high.

Good purchase.

Davek September 12, 2014

I did a lot of research before buying this because I wanted a back burner w/ rotisserie and high BTU burners. Shipping was fast and assembly was aided by the incredibly simple 'pictures only' instructions. Another thoughtful item was the pre-positioned screws that some parts were made to hang on 'keyhole' openings while the other screws were inserted, then those were tightened. The box weighed 188 pounds, I used a cart to move it to my rear patio for assembly, after that it was fairly easy. Okay, on to cooking, I have done one rotisserie turkey breast, some burgers, chicken parts directly on the grill and some steaks. This works as advertised, the burner controls are very precise and heat can be as hot (600F) as you need for searing, or lowered for chicken. With 4 lower burners it is easy to control. The lid is very tight and is great when using the rotisserie because the temperature can be closely controlled. I also am pleased to have purchased something 'made in America'. I am not crazy about the lower side panels, they are not very attractive and full of openings.

Broil King 490 Critique

Ekkie July 10, 2014

I have been barbequing for over 50 years and owned 7 barbeques. Except for the work involved my old Habashi does the best steakes. As number two I would rate my 15 year old Model 552-14 Broil King with the ceramic briquetts and # 3 my new Broil King. I wish you would bring back the briquetts. The Broil King is at the cottage and a number of people have used it and the comments I get: " What a great Barbeque"! Yes, I had to replace burners and briquette racks but it just keeps motoring on and best of all it works well no matter what I barbeque. Turkeys, Chicken, Ribs, Hamburgers, Vegetables, Sausages and Fish.
