great grill

gigagigosu August 11, 2014

I got this grill over a month ago and am really pleased by grilling performance. Here are some pros: gets very hot very fast (awesome for steaks), uniform heat distribution, very good temperature control, love how it looks! Cons: wish it was a bit taller

The Tradition Continues!!

LongLiveTheBroilKing August 11, 2014

I have had the Broil King Regal 440 (gas) operating for about a week, and the items I have cooked so far (chicken, sausage, potatoes, ham) have come out exceptional. The heat distribution has been extremely even, and the side of the grill which keeps the juices underneath the meat has performed beyond what I expected, keeping the meats moist and tender. Can't wait to try some steaks this weekend. Broil King continues to make great Q's. My first BBQ was a Regal, and 16 years later, the tradition will continue.

Love this grill

James June 6, 2014

Grill lid seals much tighter than most grills, keeping heat in and air flow from outside to a minimum. this reduces flame up. temperature is easy to adjust and control. Again much better than my previous grills. Handle can get a little warm if you grill for a long time so you may need a bbq mit to open the lid. overall, an excellent grill.

Happy!

Marcel August 5, 2014

I've really been impressed with the quality of this barbecue, and the ease of lighting it. It does a really good job of searing the steaks with the cast iron grills. The price is comparable to the brands made in China and yet I can support a North American made product.

Regal review

jace73 June 17, 2014

First time Broil King buyer and I'm impressed. Heats evenly and it's so much easier to grill than my old 2 burner bbq. I also like the roll out for the propane tank. Assembly instructions could be clearer in certain spots but overall not too difficult to follow.

Love this BBQ!

SandyS June 3, 2015

We were looking for the perfect BBQ for us, and I think we found it! The Broil King Regal 420 does not have a side burner and a rotisserie does not come with it. These are things that we just don't use and didn't want with our new BBQ. But what the Regal 420 does have is stylish curb appeal, as well as roomy 500 sq. inch primary cooking surface and 50,000 BTU's of heat in the 5 burners. The Cast Iron grates are reversible so that you have two different cooking surfaces. It cooks evenly with minimal flare ups, and the end product is perfection! We really like the sliding propane tank shelf that is inside the cabinet. It makes turning the tank on and off so much easier...no more getting down on hands and knees! The wheels on the bottom roll smoothly and lock securely when set. All in all, I think this is a great BBQ. It is exactly what we wanted... Quality without the frills. And it is made in North America. I would definitely recommend this one!

Everything You Put On The Grill Turns Out Perfect

JRX77 May 16, 2015

When your cooking with a natural gas BBQ you better have a minimum of 50,000 BTU's coming from just your main burners and the grill area for 50,000 BTU's better not exceed 500sq. inches. If the grill size is 600 plus sq. inches then you positively need 55,000 to 60,000 BTU's or your going to constantly encounter cooking problems every time you use that BBQ. My Broil King Natural Gas 490 PRO has 50,000 BTU's coming from it's four main burners and my grill area is 500q. inches. It cooks everything you put on the grill to perfection even if your a novice barbecuer. Just heat it up with the lid down to 550F to 600F and open the lid and turn it down to medium and start cooking with the lid up. The Broil King is by far the easiest BBQ I have ever cooked on and it does a super great job in cold weather. My Daughter and Son in Law recently purchased the 590 Pro and we all agree - Everything you put on the grill just turns out Perfect. I recommend this product to all.

HIGH QUALITY AND LOW PRICE MEANS BEST VALUE!

IVAN M May 9, 2016

THIS IS MY SECOND BROIL KING - REGAL. THE FIRST ONE LASTED SEVEN YEARS! HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE FACT I HAD A FRIEND HOUSE-SITTING FOR ME LAST SUMMER, (AN IDIOT WHO DID NOT KNOW HOW TO LOOK AFTER THE BARBECUE,) I WOULD STILL BE USING IT. HOWEVER, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH BUYING A NEW ONE AFTER SEVEN YEARS AND MOUNTAINS OF DELICIOUS, COOKED MEALS. I'VE NOW HAD THE NEW ONE FOR ABOUT A MONTH; IT'S GREAT! NO PROBLEMS, JUST LIKE THE FIRST ONE! BY THE WAY, I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THE PRICE I PAID THIS YEAR IS THE SAME PRICE I PAID FOR MY FIRST REGAL - SEVEN YEARS AGO.

A Hot Time in the Backyard Tonight!

bwpbwpbwp July 1, 2014

This is a great bbq. It heats up quickly, retains the heat through the cook, and comes loaded with some features, such as the rotisserie and rotisserie burner, that makes cooking on the grill a pleasure. If I could design the next Regal, the only two items I would like to see changed are: 1. find some way to reduce the flare ups (I find the Regal flares up far more than my old bbq); 2. find a way to make the unit run cooler when the four burners are set to their lowest setting. I know it may seem odd to ask for a BBQ to run cooler; however, I find that even when all the burners are set to low, the internal temperature runs above 400 degrees. I've had to resort to using indirect heating far more than with my last bbq. I guess this is all part of learning to cook on a new grill.

Cooks Great, but has quality issues.

Canada July 21, 2014

Not very happy!. My lid has been replaced 3 times and it still does not close properly, the adjustable leg bolts are rusting and one knob is off center. I heard a lot of good things about Broil King and wanted to buy North American, so we decided to spend a little more money and purchase this model. I have owned a number of less expensive foreign made BBQ's and none have had these issue.
