I've spent money on the "infrared" grill, the cheap grill and the in between grill. This one has been the best so far. The big money infrared grill rotted at the base. The Signet has a plastic base hence no rot! The griddles are cast iron and cheaply replaceable. It would have cost over $100 to replace the griddle on the infrared. This grill has plenty of BTU for grilling anything I've thrown on it. Yes it flares up but a spray bottle fixes that. I like flare when I'm grilling meat. The cast aluminum sides and stainless lid are perfectly paired. I hope this grill lasts as long as the $99 cheapo that lasted seven years. The infrared barely made three! It's plenty big enough for our family of six. I highly recommend this grill!
I've had my new grill for a few months now and absolutely love it. I did a lot of research before I purchased it and am very glad I went with Broil King. It's a very solid unit and gets hot very quick. The cook on it is better than any grill I've owned. I purchased many Broil King accessories and I'm very happy with them as well. The only modification I did to it was remove the warming rack, I found it was in the way when you had a full grill of food. It can be popped back in quickly but I never use it anyway. If you are on the fence about what to buy go with The King!
Had a larger Weber for 12 years. We were looking at another Weber and the salesgirl said we should look at the broil king. Glad she showed it to us. While the Weber was good this one is perfect for us now. I can BBQ just as much as I did on the other one so the smaller size which was our concern was unnecessary. Great all round BBQ. Would definitely recommend
I would recommend this to anyone. I also purchased the rotisserie set and made my first chicken on the grill. I have also fried fish and Freedom Fries on the outside burner. Only things I will change are the base and the drip pan. The sheet metal is flimsy and I am constantly rolling the grill in and out from underneath the eves. With the flimsiness, the doors will sometimes hang up on the inner edge of the upper side of the grill. The drip pan was not fully functional until I bent the tabs holding it in place. I had a messy greasy buildup in the cabinet because the grease was not draining properly. I will add some supports to fix this.
I read review after review and just couldn't find the perfect grill, until my friend bought the Signet 20. He is a chef and just explained how great it is. We also had owned the same model of another brand and both knew what we wanted and didn't want. So, I pulled the plug and bought one, and this is by far the best grill I have ever had. The construction is top notch and the quality is as good as the best out there, if not better. The cover, although pricey, is one that will not tear when the wind blows. It is an awesome cover. Shorty story, but when this grill runs it's course, I will buy another one Broil King!
I've had a lot of grills in my life, most of them, besides the Weber pot/charcoal grills, have been average at best. Some, like the Charbroils, were just awful. The Signet 20 has plenty of usable grill area, the temperature control is excellent, and the thing heats up to over 550 degrees with just three burners. I've used it 6 times since I bought it and I am very satisfied. The lower part of the base is plastic, so I hope that that prevents the lower rust-out that plagued my last grill. I think that this unit is an excellent buy, considering the sub-par company that is offered as competition. It compares favorably to the 3-burner Weber that costs $100 more.
I like the large storage space below the grill, it's a great place to store my supplies for the grill but also wood chips for my smoker. The side burner is great for smelly foods such as fish, plus it helps keep the house cool in the summer. The natural gas hook up was easy and fast. Overall it seems to be a good grill. The gauge of the metal seems thin but this is a new grill for me and I really don't know how it will stand up over time. My magnet sticks to it so I know it's not stainless steel as implied. The only thing I can find that is stainless is the round grills that you place your meal on. But hey this is a new grill for me and I hope it last as long as my others have. Time will tell.
Bought the Baron 340 almost a month ago & LOVE IT! The battery ignitor is excellent & the way the burners are laid out provides even constant heat on the entire grilling service. I will have to re-adjust my temps & cooking times as the last thing I bbq were deeply flame-kissed, burnt beyond taste! This is my 2 Broil King bbq because of the high quality of the product. Happy griller in Napanee, ON.
I bought this 4 years ago and the cast iron grills have flaked off pieces and need replacement. To me that should not happen in only 4 years. Otherwise happy with the bbq
I had very high hopes for this grill. I done lots of research and thought this was going to be the best grill compared to a Weber. While the grill is very nice looking and seems very well built, the flare ups are horrible! I admit I have only cooked burgers, but they are the 80/20 variety. From the time I put them on, until I take them off, it flares up constantly. Not happy at all with that. I replaced a 12 year old CharBroil, and I never experienced the intensity of flare ups with it as I do the Broil King. I think it has to do with the pans that cover the burners. I had better luck with the tent type that was on the CharBroil. Any suggestions?
