Brother ADS-1000W Compact Color Desktop Scanner with Duplex and Wireless Networking

SCANNING ITEMS ARE SO EASY WITH THIS PRODUCT. I SIMPLY PUT MY DOCUMENTS IN THE FEEDER, PRESS SCAN, AND THEY GO THROUGH QUICKLY AND COMPLETELY STRAIGHT. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET DOCUMENTS STRAIGHT WITH MY OLD SCANNER; SO I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS PRODUCT.

Easy to install, love my scanner!

It is a great scanner for it size and cost. It serves me well for the usage I have. And best of all you make available drivers and firm ware for OS X.

This scanner is compact and very easy to use. Very reasonably priced and perfect for the office that has limited space available as it it is compact and does not require a lot of space.

While I love this scanner for its ease of use, I would like very much to understand why it shows that it is connected to my wireless internet, I cannot use the scanner without plugging in the usb cable. I can set up computers without much effort, but for the life of me, I cannot understand why using this wirelessly (not plugged in with usb cable) is such a problem. I use this for personal use, trying to get rid of so much paper in my files. It scans very well, I use a custom setting, prefer smaller files in pdf format and I also use it to categorize things for tax returns, medical information, etc. I can also send documents to my Evernote account very easily. I love my little scanner, but need a solution for the true capabilities of this product.

The scanner is small, compact, easily portable. It scans pages reliably. I have used it primarily to create PDF documents which is does very quickly and with a high quality. This ability alone was worth the price of the scanner. One time I was able to convert a report in text format so I could bring it into Excel for data manipulation which saved me a great deal of time. I would strongly recommend this scanner.

I was so excited to find this scanner. The reviews looked good, the price was fair, and it was just the right size. My issue? I also own a compact, Brother laser printer. I have tested the scanner, and so far it works great. My complaint is that I have YET to get either of them to work when I try to set them up through the wireless connection, even though I understand computers and have tried numerous times to unsuccessfully connect these machines. My tablet and phone were effortless. What's the deal, Brother???!!!

I would never recommend this scanner to anyone. Reasons: Pros: The equipment looks nice and is a good space saver. Image is nice and clear. Cons: It is not user friendly. Manual: There is no printed Manual indicating step by step how to set up settings. You have to download it from their website. Still, this digital manual does not have guides to set up the different settings to get the most of the scanner . I looked everywhere in the internet for instructional videos and all I found was the video ad and one or two YouTubers poorly showing how it works. Software: after installing it, there was no icon in the desktop to start working. I had to download the drivers to be able to use it . All these inconveniences made me call twice an IT to help me navigate with the scanning settings. Of course, calling the IT cost money. I am not new to computers, I have been using computers and laptops for the last 16 years and I can easily trouble shoot lots of difficulties but Installing this piece of hardware was a nightmare. The paper guide or holder in the feeder is to short and papers easily incline to the side and therefore papers were constantly jammed. Works best with thick or heavy paper, regular office paper constantly jams. Price: is over priced. After all these frustrations I decided to return it.

If you like your scanner to jam, scan things crooked, or simply shut down and not work for a day or two , than this scanner is perfect for you.

After receiving the scanner, the set-up was easy, and the product worked. However, after a week, the scanner would not work (scan). I had to uninstall the program and re-install. Worked great, but happened again. Per tech support, I again uninstalled/reinstalled. After this happening 2 more times, I gave up and returned the product.
