Brother CS5055 Computerized Sewing Machine with 60 Built-in Stitches

This is an excellent choice for a beginner or the person who wants to travel to classes, retreats etc. and not have to lug their heavier, more expensive machines. I purchased it for quilting as a traveling machine. It is inexpensive, light weight and does a great job. I also purchased one for my 10 year old granddaughter to learn on. It is very easy to use and she made a table runner and dog bandana's within a week. It is definitely a little work horse and we'll worth it's price

I've had it about a month and so far I am loving it. I am an experienced sewist so maybe a little easier for me to get the hang of it. Instructions are simple. All the stitches I have tried have been wonderful. I've used it to fix the hem on some bath towels, which was pretty thick and I had no problems at all. Definitely would recommend this machine for the price.

The amount of stitching guides is wonderful. My wife is still learning how to sew. this is a great starter unit and it doesn't weigh much. we ended up using my KitchenAid mixer cover from Amazon but really any cover will work. it is pretty light so it would be great too use anywhere.

I needed to replace my machine and found this one thru the Walmart app. It was a familiar brand and well priced. I also knew if I did not like the machine or had any issues with it. It would be an easy return. I have used it several times and I've had no issues. I was looking for a sewing machine with a needle threader; the one on this machine is very quick easy to use. For a beginner, the instructions are well written and there are YouTube videos available as well if needed.

She initially purchased a Singer at Michael's, but when it was defective straight out of the box (the automatic needle threader did not function), she returned it and went with a brand she has used for years. Guess what - the Brother works perfectly... at half the price.

Purchased for my daugher for xmas; she loves it; works great; looks great; actually love the carrying case and it has a place for everything within it.

I like my sewing machine. It is easy to use and gets the job done. The only minor problem I have had is the pressure foot. keeps coming off the maçhìne I blame myself for this becauseI probably don't have have it on correctly.Overall I would highly recommend tbis sewing machine. It is a great. Value for the money.

I just received my brother cs5055 today and got it all set up. I used my flash light on my phone to look at the screen because it doesn't light up and noticed scuffs all over the screen. Also it was blinking E1 on the screen. Is this normal? Should I return it and order another one? I want the same machine, but if there's going to be scuffs on it I want them to be because I put them there. I turned it off and back on and so far the E1 message hasn't came back up bust till concerned about the scuffs/scratches

Plastic on it's construcción feels frágiles, the accesories feel the sane and are not identified as they should the footpress not numberes, needles incomplete, at least not the ones describes i detauls of product

This review has to do with the third-party seller selling their product or should I say lack there of product on walmart.com - on the weekend after Thanksgiving, I placed an online order for this brother, sewing machine and the case. A few weeks later, a box was delivered to my house appeared to be the sewing machine in the case all in one box I didn't open it at the time, but put it in a locked closet, where all of my other Christmas gifts were being held until I could wrap them. A few days ago, I pulled the box out to look at the product and wrap it, and to my shock only the sewing machine case was in the box! Inside the case was no sewing machine at all! Being that it's only a few days before Christmas I had to place an order frantically on amazon.com and thankfully it came in yesterday. I am in the process of filing a formal complaint against the seller with wal-mart.com and I'm awaiting Wal-mart to refund me for the sewing machine that was never shipped to me. I understand that just as Amazon has third-party sellers Wal-mart does as well, my suggestion is to always buy directly from the company and whatever you do avoid this third-party seller at all costs!
