Printer inks are notoriously expensive. It's just the way it is. I've tried shortcuts by using the refillable or off-brand cartridges and have lived to regret it each time. The printer companies know how to program their printers so that they will ultimately malfunction unless you use their own brand ink. It's how they make their money. In any case, this printer is generally good quality, and the inks work well and last well too. With what the industry standards are, I believe that these inks last better than average that I have experience with.
Easy clean installation %26 the high count easily get 1500 pages. I use the black often so they come with a bigger cartridge.

My alternate printer is a Brother and I did not have any ink for it. The prices were quite reasonable and the printer now works quite well.

Have the printer since one week, printing very good in fact Looking at the reviews, noticed that I can't read all the reviews including the bad ones even if I sort by worst score... lacking transparency ? In addition, the Brother's response to a comment with environmental preoccupation misses totally the point which is difficult to understand as the question was clear. Expensive, yes, like all the similar products of any brand. I wonder if I will look for generic ink once the waranty is over...
