Always nice to have a large capacity (500 pages) cartridge.
SSSLLLOOOWWW shipping. They chose to ship via USPS. This is the slowest form of shipping. Was “delayed” numerous times. When i finally received it, the package was squashed flat. Not sure if it will work.
The Printer sucks the ink,, Very expensive It is a racket because you are forced ot buy color ink even though you only print in black ink They take over your printer an dthat is wrong, I thought i owned my printer, but you really don't when they control it All I do is print my grocery list once a week and I go through the ink fast DO NOT BUY
These do not print 200 pages! It seems the auto-checking/cleaning the printer does uses up the ink. I bought & installed these cartridges in Mar 2025 & now, in Oct 2025 they're empty. I guess the only way to disable the auto cleaning is to fully unplug it. Great. I'm so sorry I ever bought this printer
Been trying to purchase LC401 BK ink for a new MFC-J1170DW printer, that I really was starting to like...but cant use it for last 3-4 months!! So frustrating, have had advice to go over to Canon brand, and look at purchasing there...a new printer (UGGH) and get it installed, etc... How could this happen? What is going on?
Today I threw a practically new Brother into the junk heap. This product is worthless if you cannot buy supplies. Cannon and HP seem to have plenty of ink. They seem to be a more reliable brand if you actually want to use your equipment. See ya Brother.
I owned a different Brother printer for years and liked it quite well. I bought a MFC-J1010DW in October and found it to be satisfactory. But I now can't find LC401 ink anywhere online or in local stores, just as several who have recently posted in reviews. I use my printer for my job and can't be without a working printer for long. If the ink situation isn't corrected soon I will be forced to buy another printer. I take no pleasure in it, but I feel an obligation to share my problem with anyone that may benefit from this knowledge. I ran a company for several years. If I were in charge of Brother today, I would inform the COO that he has 10 days to correct the problem. Otherwise I would terminate him/her.
I liked this printer. Now I literally have to go buy a new printer because I am unable to work due to the complete unavailability of compatible black ink. It's beyond me how brother could sell so many of these printers without foreseeing the need for ink. Now this otherwise reliable printer is a paper weight. They have been estimating the product be back in stock for "2-4 weeks" for weeks already. I have no confidence in any availability any time soon.
They required me to purchase this ink to print a page with a code to subscribe to the ink subscription. I printed one page, subscribed, and the ink stopped working (new cartridge was sent to the garbage bin). Then, I was waiting another week to get subscription ink. All that time was not able to use my printer. Never had this issues with HP. Don't recommend brothers.
Why am I unable to buy any black ink cartridge LC401.I have done my research and ready to order the corresponding machine, but why would I if I can't buy black cartridges. I have looked at four different places to order and all are out of stock. I need the machine now, and I can't have it run out of ink with no cartridges available to purchase.
