Love this Sewing Machine!! I'm a beginner and set it up quickly! Comes with a instructional DVD which is a + in my book!! I Actually bought this machine to pick up a new hobby and make my pits a home made DOGGY BED!! It served it's purpose!! A Must buy!!!
I bought this sewing machine for my nine year old granddaughter. It is so user-friendly! There are numbers on the machine to show how to thread the machine, and pictures regarding how to properly wind the bobbin. My granddaughter adjusted well to the speed of the machine, and she was threading and sewing straight stitches after one lesson. The manual is easy to read with good illustrations. There is no cover for the sewing machine, however, my granddaughter is going to sew one. They have patterns, but we are going to make our own pattern. I am very impressed with this sturdy sewing machine - a great bargain for the money. Thank you to the Brother company for making an affordable sewing machine.
Very simple and easy to use. Helpful instructions even a 10 yr. old could follow. I love everything about it, to the easy wind bobbin to the arm that can sew anything.
I bought this for my granddaughter who is 10 yrs old and it was easy for her to use with simple directions and steps to thread the needle and rewind the bobbin.
I got this machine for my birthday and was alittle afraid because I had never sewn in my entire life. I thought I would never be able to learn because everyone in my family said it was so complicated learning to sew. I got my machine read the instructions and it was so easy. Threading was so simple and I have bean sewing like crazy. Have made 2 baby skirts, and even a couple cloth diapers for my baby. The quality seams very good and I have had no problems with it thus far. Great machine for anyone in my opinion.
My original machine was having some mechanism problem, so I bought this for back-up in time to finish a project. I am REALLY impressed with it. Super easy to thread, light weight, and efficient. I can definitely see how this would be an ideal machine for beginners or for the single college girl who can't afford curtains (like myself). All-in-all... I'm unexpectedly thrilled.
Great product. Bought this for my grand daughter to learn to sew. bought one of the smaller ones and it didn't work, so decided to go for this one. Should have bought this one to begin with. Pretty simple and light weight for her. No problems at all and has worked great so far. Very easy to understand for her . I'm sure she will enjpy this for years to come.
This machine met all requirements for beginner as the manual was well written and made every step easy to follow. I purchased it as a replacement for another brand that did not measure up, and was delighted. As a quilter it is ideal to carry to classes only weighing in at some 12-14 lbs. Housing is plastic, but sturdy. It runs quiet and with no jiggle at high speed sewing. It has all the stitches any home sewer needs and the dial is simple to figure out. It is now my favorite of the seven machines I have owned. The price could not be beat! I WILL get used to the presser foot being in a new location rather than at the back as I am used to. Like the thread cutter also and will get accustoed to using that.
I have only sewed a few things so far, but it's working great. Basic sewing options, but that is what I wanted.
I have been teaching each of my grandaughters to sew as they reach about 10-11 years old. This the third Brother machine I have bought in recent years and the second of this model. It is a perfect starter machine. It has enough of the bells and whistles and all the threading tasks are very self explanatory. There are enough decorative stitches for the kids to learn on without getting too fancy. The instruction manual is understandable and the quality is a good value for the price.
