This machine is nicely made. The directions of set up and sewing are easy to follow. There many options for stitches both basic and decorative. It comes with a cover and a variety of tools to use. It handles different thicknesses of materials which is nice. The machine is well worth the money.
This is the second one I bought. The first one was both the case and the sewing machine. The case was a disaster. I returned both the machine and case and ordered just the machine. I love it! It works great. I'm teaching my 16yr old granddaughter to sew and this MZ53 machine is perfect for it. I had a little trouble figuring out how to use the automatic needle threader but finally figured it out and it will be a lifesaver for these old eyes.
As an entry level sewing machine, this came with an amazing number of stitches, 53, and 7 presser feet, one of which was the edge stitch foot! But the most appreciated addition was the needle threading assist!
Still trying to figure out how to access all the second round of stitches on the dial. I'm trying to figure it out in between crochet projects. Does anyone know how? Thanks
I would recommend this machine, but NOT THE SELLER! This was a gift, but it was delivered unpackaged – only in its original box which revealed its contents. This not only spoiled the surprise, but also made it more susceptible to theft. Again, no problem with machine just delivery.
It's sew's OK but it's really loud. I'm finding now after using it for a couple months that the thread breaks all the time. But I'm not sure if it's the thread or the machine.
It's a lot of plastic parts and very loud.
plastic very light weight
I didn't even open the sewing machine. It may have been fine. I ordered the sewing machine and case combo. Paid one price but they were delivered in separate boxes on separate days. The case was a joke. I could get better quality from temu! The bottom of the case was so bowed that it was like the old rocker shoes that used to be popular. The edges of the case didn't line up and you had to maneuver and bend the edges to make them match. If you purchase this machine, DON'T buy the one with the case. I had to return both the sewing machine and the case to get any money back.
Upon receiving the machine, I unpacked and and started setting it up for use. once setup I attempted to sew with it and you can hear the motor running but it will not stitch. You can turn the knob on the machine to move the needle up and down and it moves but the motor will not move the needle. Also when turning the knob that moves the needle you can hear what sounds like a grinding noise. This had been a disaster from the very beginning with the shipment being delayed a few times before being delivered. The packaging was not damaged at all, so this screw up is from the manufacture. If this is not resolved an a day or two I want my money back..... Model %23 MZ53 S/N U66575-C3P542059 Gary Beadle October 30, 2025
