I bought this printer when I realised that the dozens of plugs I had lying around were not identifiable when plugging them back in for use. I also come to the conclusion I didn't know what the many always on sockets controlled. This label printer as turned out to be a godsend, sockets, chargers, multiple plugs, are picked up and plugged in in seconds. I don't know how any household with computers, tablets, phones, page printers plus all the normal kitchen equipment can manage without one of these label printers. All hidden control boxes now labelled. Just get one if you have anything that needs identification.
I love my label maker, I actually bought mine at a yard sale, still in the packaging! I have used this handy machine to label everything, and it had never failed me once. It does take batteries, but that doesn't bother me, if you want alternative power there is an adaptor you can get for this label maker. Overall I think that it is a great item, and I love the different fonts, images and styles of type.
Using on my files and labeling chargers and cords that I have been confused which goes with which mechanical item. Works great and easy to use w/o instructions. (I hate instructions)
I brought this a year ago and it has helped in labelling clothes as you can get iron on ribbon for school uniforms, Care Home name tags. So saves me having to sewing which I hate.
This Brother - PT-D210 works very well, as long as you have an excess amount of tape and batteries stored away. 1st - When printing, there is an excess of 3/4" in front and back of the lettering, even if your printing a label of 1 character. For me this is a huge waste of tape. I called Brothers and they indicated there is not adjustment for this waste. 2nd - The battery life does not last long at all. I've tried different types of batteries, still they die out super fast. Yes they are new batteries. Instructions are very difficult to follow and understand. Not user friendly. After reading and trying to make head and tales out of things, is when I had to call customer service for help. Just to receive feedback that there isn't any adjustment in the length of wasted tape and no recommendations for the shortage of battery life. But was recommended to purchase another item that plugs into the wall. How convenient is that, especially when you may be carrying this around the house or business. The store I purchase it from would not take it back as it has been to long since the purchase date, now I'm stuck with an item I do not want. I would NOT recommend this to others unless you know about these issues that I have ran into. It works great, but very wasteful, have extra batteries, because it will stop working when you need it most.
It is absolutely absurd that a comapny would sell a product with the "OPTION" of running on AC but the adaptor does NOT come with the Product and the adaptor is DISCONTINUED!!!! The sole purpose of buying this particular unit is to have it not consume batteries! I would not give this labeller a single star due to the complete failure on this manufacturer to develop and sell a product with the proper support! This purchase alone will ensure I never recommend a Brother product to anyone!
Requires 6 Triple AAA Batteries and does not supply an alternating current power supply. I suppose it can be purchased separately, but I can't find one in my community and haven't had any success fsearching it on Brother. Moreover, it is a waste of my time to have to find a more environmentally favourable solution. I am used to brother products being ready to go and efficient for all of us. I would NOT recommend this product. Products that operate on batteries alone should be discontinued and products that can operate on battery or alternating current should come WITH the necessary equipment to do so. BTW: You already have my email on file, so I skipped the section that asked for it again.
One problem with shopping online is being able to catch every little detail. This label maker requires 6 batteries and does not come with a power adapter. Been looking for the 'Accessory" adapter online and so far have not been able to find ir or find an equivalent adapter. So I gotta give it a thumbs down because I am not putting 6 batteries in the thing.
Getting Battery Empty message when plugged in to wall with power adapter. Put new batteries in and got same message.
Been trying to buy a power converter to use the Label Maker and all that has happened is that I can not get one. When ever I put the adapter number down (AD24ES), which is listed in your P-Touch supplies and accessories Guide, I am told there is no match found.
