Replacement for a PE535 that I bought refurbished and ran hard for 4-1/2 years. Having the new machine gave me the confidence to open and repair the PE535, so it's still running. . Hopefully this machine will give the same level service. Eight million stitches so far. I have Embrilliance, so I will likely never get the brother design app. The WiFi transfer is nice. You need the transfer app on your pc, too. One warning - transferred files are not automatically saved on the machine. You need to take an extra step to save them or they disappear when the machine is turned off. This uses the same accessories as the PE535, so if you already bought PE series mag hoops, you're good to go. I have found super stretch needles work better than standard embroidery needles, but YMMV. If you're going between 90wt and 60wt bobbin thread, additional bobbin cases are readily available. And the 90wt prewounds have yet a different tension than the Brother thread, which is lubricated. And very expensive. Get multiple bobbin cases and calibrate each one for a bobbin thread with an H (I) test.
just started using the machine. i still have alot to learn. i have been practicing using it. seems like a great machine for the money
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my sister-in-law who has been wanting an embroidery machine, as I own a Brother machine of my own. She has created many beautiful products with this machine at a beginners level. I would highly recommend this deal for anyone wanting to begin machine embroidery, as it come with many accessories!
Extremely difficult to use, instructions are confusing, it is hard to find information online. I have spent a lot of money on thread and blank projects just for them to be ruined every time. The machine is extremely minimal and low tech - definitely not worth the expensive price. Especially when considering the limited, 4x4 hoop size limitation.
After 3 days, wouldn't function properly. 30-45 minutes on phone resulted in an admission that cdale had never used an embroidery machine but was happy to help me solve my problem, then his suggestion to see an authorized service dealer, as he had no clue what else to suggest. Refund please
Opened and filthy, machine was previously in someones home and dirty, used, and full of cloth debris, always check package tape, if it isn't factory sealed. Stop and take Pictures do not open package.
At first I loved using the machine. I have experience sewing so the machine was easy to figure out. I started with some simpler practice projects and I was pleased with the results. In the middle of a more important project on a jacket, the bobbin needed to be changed. I replaced the empty bobbin with a new pre-wound bobbin that came with the machine. After that, it begun embroidering differently and the top thread wasn't being pulled correctly and I could only see the white bobbin thread that should've been underneath the project. I re-threaded both the top thread and bobbin several times but couldn't solve the problem. There wasn't much else to experiment with when the machine was in the middle of completing a project. The jacket was already ruined with no way of going back and fixing the second half of the pattern after changing the bobbin. I decided the machine wasn't worth ruining anything else and I will be returning.
Missing all the parts but the power cord the box was 100% open when it was delivered
At First, I was able to use this machine, but now it has stopped working/finishing the embroideries. I have contacted Brother about outside interference ( because of the use of Bluetooth/wireless functions) with no reply. I am unhappy with my purchase and do not recommend this this machine or this company.
I purchased 2 of these today—1 in store %26 1 online. Neither 1 had a foot pedal… what in the entire sewing %26 embroidery world?! Brother, why are you NOT including foot pedals in the box?? Why make people go back %26 forth to the store to return machines when you can %26 should include a foot pedals?
