Brother SQ9285 Sewing Machine (Used) + 25 Year Limited Warranty

As a beginner, I have thoroughly enjoyed using this machine! Highly recommend this machine for beginner or expert! The manual that comes with this machine limits most errors!

I love this machine!! However I cannot figure out why it will not zig zag stitch on t-shirt material. I have changed needles, thread, and bobbins but it will only zig one stitch then sew straight then sew a zag, never once sewing zig zag in any way shape or form. I put regular cotton material in the machine & it sews like a dream, zig zag's away. I'm about to lose my mind.

The foot pressure is perfect on this machine. It is easy to use and the book explains how to use extremely well. The light could be better. Light enough for retreats but a sturdy machine.

I am a casual user and it was easy to use and instructions were clear and simple to understand. The machine comes with many accessories such as a spring action quilting foot, 1/4" piercing foot, a walking foot with quilting guide, a button hole foot, an overcasting foot, and a bunch of other feet. Just about everything you could possibly need. I love that it is computerized, makes it very easy even for new users. It is a quality machine that works great! Impressed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a Brother SQ9285 150-stitch Computerized Sewing and Quilting Machine from TryItSampling. After reading all the directions, I set the machine up for my first try on it. Although it has MANY settings for different stitches, quilting stitched and for buttonholes, I tried a simple straight stitch. It was a breeze! Honestly this machine intimidated me at first, but now that I see how easy it is to begin, I’m ready to start in my adventure to more advanced stitches. I highly recommend this machine for any degree of sewing and stitching. I’m excited to get more and more advanced as I learn!

My husband bought this as a birthday gift and I am very impressed with the ease of use! I have made 5 quilts, several purses, handbags and skirts, all from our old denim materials. It comes with everything you need to get started! This is the second Brother I have owned and recommend to anyone!

I am just now unpacking my Brother SQ9285 and much to my dismay, this sealed carton has several necessary items missing. Power cord I have a foot but it does not attach to this machine. Please someone from Brother contact me. I love Brother machines and the only reason I’m giving one less star than I would normally give is the missing power cord and foot.

I bought this machine because I needed a machine quick due to the breakdown of my other machine. It sews well except it has issues going over thick seams. I quilt and sewing over thick seams is part of quilting when you have several pieces of material together. This machine catches on the seams and has a difficult time sewing over the seams. It is frustrating. Otherwise the machine seems to work fine.

This machine just doesn't woah me like my Singer quilting machine does. It was cheaply constructed as parts are brittle and falling off almost weekly. I have had tremendous trouble with the tension since new and just really have back-burnered this machine for an "in case of emergency" i may need it. I'd sell it but reaslistically, who would give me what I paid if I feel like it was over-priced and inadequate of meeting my sewing needs?
