I have had my Stellaire for about a month. I absolutely love this machine. The stitches are absolutely first class and the speed is next to none. I am still learning the Design Center, so much information to retain. However, the instruction manual and YouTube have the much needed information. Thank for Brother for such an outstanding machine.
When Brother introduced this machine in summer of 2019, I was immediately drawn to it. I have been waiting for a TOL embroidery-only single needle machine that had all the features of "My Design Center". I already own several sewing machines, and a serger and did not need to duplicate those features with a TOL machine in order to also get the embroidery features I was seeking. I love that the Stellaire series has both combo and embroidery only option machines. The Stellaire XE1 gives me all that I wished for in an embroidery machine without repeating the sewing features I already have in other machines I own. I purchased this almost a year ago, and have been gradually learning the wonderful features, such as a HUGE hoop, amazing needle threading, My Design Center, tons of included designs including my favorite, DISNEY!. There is still a lot I want to learn, and I am so looking forward to the end of this pandemic and to the day I can take some proper classes at my favorite dealership. This is my third Brother machine that embroiders. I also own a Brother 1250D (combo machine), and had owned a Brother NQ1400E (traded in to get my Stellaire XE1). I also own a Brother SM1704, and a Disney version Scan n Cut. I recently bought my daughter a Brother NS1759D. You could say that I am a HUGE Brother fan, and I always recommend to people searching for a machine to check out the Brother line.
The Stellaire is my third brother machine, I have the Dream Machine 2 and the Pr655 six needle. I was looking for an embroidery only machine and I found the perfect one. It is easy to use, has many new pictures loaded and the usual fonts which I use all the time. If you are looking for a new machine this is it!!!!
Absolutely love this embroidery machine. I've had it for about a month now. Previously I had a Viking Designer 1, which I thought was good until I got this machine. The embroidery quality is really nice. The only needle I broke was when I accidently had a strap under the embroidery hoop. I have used Robison Anton Rayon threads and new polyester (Simthread from Amazon) and have not broken a thread yet. The tension on the thread is so good that I can run the thread with or without a thread net. I'm still in the process of mastering all the things it is able to do, so I keep the book handy. But I am so very glad I bought this machine. It is now my favorite hobby because the machine runs so very well.
I traded my XE-1 for a XJ1 I really needed the sewing part of the machine. The one thing that bothered me about the XE-1 is its an embroidery machine only it should have come with more hoops and designs. And its Disney, More DESIGNS PLEASE I should not have to purchase more. The XJ1 came with more hoops and designs. Other than that I Love my machine.
This is a great machine, embroiders beautifully. It has a large screen, and great features. The only issue I had with it is the needle cover plate kept coming loose while embroidering and the machine would stop. Then I would have to take it all apart, Reset the needle plate cover. While it's not enough to make me hate the machine, it is frustrating and time consuming, espescially when prepping for a craft show. I don't have this issue with my other Brother sewing/embroidery machine.
I love this machine. I have wanted just an affordable larger embroidery only machine and the Stellaire delivers , except one thing, a camera. (I have a bernina for my regular sewing). Don't get me wrong the snap app is a reasonable way around that, but nothing replaces a camera for placement.
My machine seems so awesome, but I need more education on it to really use it to the fullest potential. I bought from a dealership and have taken it back 2X's and did not learn anything new or that would benefit me. Kinda disappointed with the lack of education for this awesome machine, hence the low rating. If I could experience the full potential, I'm sure it would be 10 stars.
This machine is very quiet and fast. I love the large screen and the quick changes between menus.
I purchased my XE1 to help with quilting because free-motion on my domestic sewing machine is too hard on my shoulders. While the XE1 does do quilting, I find the hoop very hard on my hands. the built in quilting designs are limited, and the stitching scale is too small for most projects. the embroidery is lovely and fun to use, but unfortunately not what I purchased the machine for. I wish I had sprung for the next level up with the built in camera for better hooping and precision.
