This printer is a solid workhorse. It replaces and is a slight improvement over the previous generation printer, the HL-2270DW that I made many thousands of copies on over the years. Reliable. The 2-sided option is invaluable. When I read online reviews, many people complained about the auto deep sleep. I like it. Don't have to turn the machine on and off to save electricity. However, you have to know how to use it. The machine goes into 'sleep' mode right away and will wake itself up when a job is sent. After a certain length of time, though, it goes into 'deep sleep'. Press the power button before printing in this case, it jumps into action immediately. Not a problem. I'm someone who is sceptical of online reviews, assuming they are sponsored. My feedback is the real deal. I recommend this printer for frequent, basic use. It appears it will go the distance over the years and the print quality is tops.

Purchased this for at home use when the office was closed for Covid. Simple to set up. Connected to WiFi easily. Can print from my phone or any computer. Please note this comes with ink - did not realize that.

I recently purchased this exact printer. I found it sturdy, reliable and in my poor judgement, very well crafted. Been using it for a month now and must have printed over 200 pages, pictures too and reverse side also. It's the hum of turning it on that is specific to it. Having said that I wouldn't encourage anybody to purchase one as the parts, accessories, printer cartridges are beyond pricy. I definitely would make recommendations for future users but refrain from anything more. Until then, I will simply appreciate a new product.

I like the compact size of this computer and it is very economic. What I don't like is it is very hard to work the settings. The buttons are tiny, not well lit, and hard to read. I am ready to replace the printer and would buy another Brother if the settings were more user friendly.

I got this product a couple of weeks ago and it works great. I just tried 6 times to register it. The site kept telling me there was an error, but provided no prompt as to what was wrong. Each time I carefully checked that everything was entered properly. The guys at Staples warned me that "Brother" was difficult to communicate with. That was my first attempt.

Great printer when and if it works. connectivity issues abound with these Garmin devices. Sometimes it works on wifi, most the times not. Then I plug it in and the same issues. The other issues are when these things happen there is little to no support available. Im not sure in this day and age why this will not stay connected and why it's so hard to get these set up with a network to begin with. I am not sure how many times I have had to do a full factory reset when all I wanted to do was print just one or two sheets and go on about my business. I have a hard time recommending this or any brother printer due to these inherent issues.

On the 3rd instance of this printer dropping the network connection, the chat support group wrote me to say that the printer can only connect to 2.4mghz network. I use Bell Fibe and while the modem is dual band (5.0 and 2.4), you cannot set up a separate 2.4 network, which is the only thing this printer will connect and stay connected to. Brother should print a whole whack of labels to stick on their cartons saying that a separate 2.4 network connection is required. Also, when the printer could find the 2.4 signal, you have to go through a tedious process to enter network name/password. This has been off/on problem in two months since I bought the printer. Taking it back and hope the store doesn't make a fuss about refunding. Comparable priced HP printer with same features works flawlessly with my Bell Fibe network.

Had the printer for around two years, very light demand on the printer, and it just died on me this past summer, wouldn't power up. Tried contacting Brother to no avail, the website was not functioning and forget the phone system it was a total waste of time.

If I could give this print fewer stars, I would. It jams all the time.!It is not uncommon for it to jam 4 or 5 times when one is trying to print a single page. 443 jams out of 3342 print jobs. That's 13.2% of the time it jams. When it does finally print without jamming, the quality is good. I have printed #10 envelopes, labels, and 2 sided pages, and have been pleased with the end result.
