It would work well over charcoal. We use it for baked chicken and the ability to make gravy on the stove stop afterwards. The finish should be smoother, either milled or ground after casting.
Love using this in my pellet grill. It keeps the grill grates clean when you cook in it. Very well made and it keeps the mest moist.
This was a good price for exactly what I was looking for. Arrived quick. It's a good size and nice weight. I've used on bbq and it held up great and cooked evenly. The lid was a great extra. Only had a short time but I think this should last and can't beat the price.

Recommended is an under statement, this is sweet. I always want one of these, put simply, could never afford, but at this price "WOW" this perfect in every way. the size is large, the endless options of use, there is nothing you can't cook in this beauty. so very very happy. my first dish after the season anyway process, will be making " Old Fashion Cornbread" the pre-cook the pan method, cant wait to use. Again this is one awesome product, you should buy 1 before they are gone
I bought this pan to fry fish with on two burner stove outside. I like it has a lid to cover the frying oil when not being used.
Very poor-quality cast iron. On the thin side. Why I've decided never to buy this item again was the fact that the first one was shattered into broken off pieces %26 the replacement was cracked. I could see maybe one being manhandled %26 dropped, but two? Just that the thin, less than quality cast iron metal can't handle normal shipping.
