Where has this been all of my life?

Dannielle420 April 1, 2021

I was gifted a complimentary SPF 30 Mineral Powder Sunscreen Brush - Translucent, in exchange for my honest review, and let me just say, I will be buying this product for the rest of my life! My one serious issue with makeup in the summer is my inability to reapply my sunscreen at regular intervals, for fear of ruining my makeup. This unscented, translucent powder is SPF 30, and can be worn alone, or applied directly on top of makeup. It acts just like a setting powder! Also, the packaging/dispenser is REFILLABLE! How awesome is that?! I will definotely be recommending this to all of my friends.

Where has then been all my life?

Lucky1 April 3, 2021

I use sunscreen every day but don't like that it can cause my face to get oily and my makeup to look patchy. I have tried a lot of different products and brands and most do the same. Even if my foundation has spf I still want the added protection. The Brush on Block is AMAZING! First, it feels like silk on your skin, second, it doesn't cause your skin to get oily. It makes your makes makeup look flawless and gives you the added protection you need. I just do my makeup as usual and then apply this as a finishing touch. It is translucent so it doesn't add color just a touch of a Dewey look. I absolutely love this and will continue to use it. I tell everyone about this product and recommend they give it a try. I know they will love it as much as I do.

Great new sunscreen option

Blairebear March 26, 2021

I did not know that brush on sunscreen was a thing until now! Well, now I am hooked, and there is no turning back. It is important to put on sunscreen every day, but I hate that greasy feel on my face. What a smart idea to put sun block in a brush! It fits easily into my makeup bag, and is now just one of my makeup routine steps. The brush is so silky soft. It is a little hard to see if it applied correctly, because it is who sheer, and blends in very well. The directions for how to open it are a little tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it's no problem.I am really interested in trying the touch of tan color next time. I think they should make this is higher spfs than 30 if possible. I love that it can go over or under makeup, and that you can easily reapply it. I do wonder how long this container will last before I have to repurchase it. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a simple easy to protect your delicate face from the rays of the sun.

Nice alternative to sunscreen lotion

Tranny March 22, 2021

This mineral powder with SPF30 is a great alternative to lotion type sunscreen. The powder is translucent - not tinted, so it works with all skin tones. The applicator also comes with a retractable brush cover to protect the bristles when you cap it.

Convenient, mineral sunscreen

PaleFemale April 6, 2021

This color is "translucent," but that doesn't mean it's clear like you'd think. While it does have color it matches my skin tone pretty well, so it's hard to see where and how much is applied. I can really only tell it's coming out because I can see the powder flick into the air as I brush it on my face. I'm not out here trying to get sunburned, so I'm not sure how effective it is. I use it as an extra precaution when I'm out and about and need to reapply. It's nice to be able to use it without ruining my makeup, or as a quick layer with my squirming kids who don't want to sit still while I rub a cream into their skin. I only use sunscreens that have zinc oxide or titanium dioxide as ingredients, because while other sunscreens are absorbed into your skin, I prefer the physical barrier mineral sunscreens provide against uv rays. I was pleased with the ingredients this product uses.

Extra protection

llll March 20, 2021

I wasn't sure how I would like this spf powder, but it checks off all the boxes. I have very sensitive skin and this does not irritate it at all. The brush applicator makes it easy to apply and the size is perfect to keep in your bag or purse for when you want a little extra protection. The direction card in the box was extremely helpful for first time use!

Could be good with some tweaks

SarahJane March 22, 2021

I tried out the Brush On Block SPF 30 Original Translucent powder and found it to be a great powder, but the application was tricky. The powder is supposed to shake through into the brush but I couldn't see any when I would use it. I ended up opening the bottom to get powder to apply. I liked the idea of sun protection without greasy lotions, but it was hard to know if I got enough powder on my entire face to be protected.

Great concept, but not sold on efficacy.

TwinMomVA April 11, 2021

I received this sunscreen for free in exchange for my honest-to-goodness review. Sunscreen is uber important in my skincare routine. At 40 years old, I've had 3 spots removed on my face, and one Mohs surgery done, and my migraine medication causes even more sensitivity to the sun. Suffice it to say, I have cruddy skin and need to beware. I was pretty excited to give this brush-on sunblock a try, because I kind of hate a greasy face, especially since I sweat a lot. I probably used a lot more of this than was directed because, as designed by the manufacturer, it is translucent. So, I put it on until I could see a good powdery coating on my face and shoulders. After such, I proceeded to do my thing outdoors at the barn, and after only an hour and a half, I was burnt. Boo. My shoulders and neck and my high cheeks were strawberry red. So, I did not have a great experience in using this, but I will give it another try, but I will use a lotion sunscreen as a base. I'm thinking this will help the lotion wear better on my face so I'm not as slick or sticky. But like I said, the concept is great. The packaging is great—purse/pocket sized applicator. There's no scent or irritation when applied.

Box doesn't have instructions - find the paper

Momof3 April 11, 2021

I pulled this out of the box and read the instructions from the side of the box. It was not clear what to do. I spent a while just trying to figure out how to get it out. I gave up and put it back in the box. Waited a couple days and then thought I'd try it again, this time noticing the paper inside the box. The instructions are clear there. I used it, but it is translucent so it is hard to tell if it is actually coming out or not. It ended up not being that sunny of a day, so I'm not sure how effective it is. I like how easy it is to use once full instructions are read. It does not have a heavy feeling to it, light and airy. I will continue to use it and see how it goes, currently I probably wouldn't buy again. I don't see myself using anywhere besides my face it looks like it would take almost the whole thing to do face, arms, hands, chest, and neck like listed on the paper.

Needs different packaging

Polly March 21, 2021

I am not someone who wears make-up often, so it took me forever (and some googling) to figure out how this works. It really needs a little diagram or manual to explain what you're supposed to do. You're supposed to ONLY uncap the brush (don't open the powder container) and then just turn the whole thing upside down and shake. For the life of me, I could not get any powder out that way - but that's what the internet says you're supposed to do. The only instructions on the packaging said "apply generously." Thanks. Pros: Feels very lightweight No tint Lots of print about non-toxic materials You can't tell you're wearing it (unlike the mineral sunblock I put on my kid, which is bright white) Cons: WEIRD packaging. Why not just put it in a little compact like regular make-up powder?? I guess then you couldn't use it at the beach because it would all blow away. I never got it to come out the top of the brush. I have no idea what I was doing wrong, so eventually I just gave up and tried dipping the brush into the little end with the power in it. This was not efficient. I would not trust this stuff with a day at the beach. Because it's lightweight powder, you cannot tell if you have full coverage or not. Are you a make-up pro who is going to the pool and has plenty of time to devote to fancy powder sunblock? This is for you! If you're a mother of tiny humans and you're just trying to not burn and have no time to be treating your powder sunblock like a shake-weight, you're probably not going to love this.
