BrylaneHome Umbrella Standard Side Table

I was always tying umbrellas to deck railings, so when I saw this end table design I knew I would purchase one. It looks great. I did put a cement paver inside as it is not as heavy as I thought it would be, and it would be a good idea to spray the screws with "rust o leum" as there was some rust after first rain that I had to re paint.

I purchased 3 of these table to place around my pool as side table for chaise loungers. The key was the ability to hold an umbrella. I knew in advance from previous reviews that they were lightweight so I purchased 25 pound, plastic clad weight plates to install around the 2" center post inside the table to make the table heavy enough to stabilize them with the umbrella open in a stiff breeze. They work great now.

Table is terrific, BUT I purchased an umbrella from Brylane Home to go into the center hole and it could not be tightened enough with the screw inside the table to hold it in place. A wind lifted the umbrella out of the table and into the pool. There was no way to tighten the screw to secure the umbrella.

looks good, but it will rust. Had the 6 X 10' umbrella in it and it blew over really easily. Put a wire mesh bottom on the cross beams and a bag of garden stones and works well. Needed a little more weight for the bigger umbrella. Neighbors asked where they could get it.

Ok, looks good, but the hole in the table for the umbrella pole,(i also bought from Brylane), is way too big to hold the umbrella securely! Table is not as heavy as i thought it might be, weighed it down with a 60lb. tube of sand, and has not toppled over since. After stuffing the opening with packing material, and weighing it down, it is serving it's purpose, and looks quite nice!

The center hole to hold umbrella was way too large and would not hold the umbrella firmly. The wing nut included wouldn't screw tight against pole so had to buy another one that worked better. Still had to pad umbrella pole to fit more snug in table. Also, one slat on table top was bent so things won't sit steady on it. Very disappointed.

The idea of this product is good, but it has design flaws. When an umbrella is being used, one good wind will knock the entire thing over. Instead of being a stand-alone product, it would be better if this slipped over a traditional umbrella weighted base.

Although nice looking, these tables have no weight at all to the, Once and umbrella is put in place, any wind at all will topple the table over. THESE TABLES ARE NOT AN UMBRELLA WEIGHTED BASE. Also, the center hole Rusts and results in deck staining. Disappointing I am stuck with 2 of them

This stand is a nice size and color. It is a lighter weight than I thought. I would have rated it much higher if the side panels lined up so it could be put together properly. I decided that returning items is such a hassle I would make it work. So two sides are higher and I could not fasten the actual stablizing "T" bar or umbrella holder. I placed my own umbrella holder underneath it. (It is not made to hold any size umbrella by itself.) So, while it is not a functioning umbrella holder it is a nice way to disguise the umbrella stand without using a large table. I was angry and disappointed, but to package it all back up and bring it to a UPS store was too much. I'll be careful with future purchases.

Several disappointing features. One screw was too big (or opening too small) for assembly. Most on line purchases enclose 1 additional part to correct such short comings. During 1st day on patio with umbrella in place, wind blew over umbrella AND table. So, obviously table with umbrella are top heavy. Also, table is rusting in places. Will not purchase future items.
