This powder is very fine and smooth, so it's easy to mix into my oatmeal, spaghetti sauce, or even just water. I am told that calcium citrate is taken up by the body better than calcium carbonate (as in Tums or inexpensive calcium tablets). I blend this powder 2:1 with magnesium citrate before using it.
I absolutely love this powder! After my bariatric surgery, getting enough calcium became a top priority, and this has been a game-changer. It's completely tasteless to me, so I just mix it into my nightly protein shake without any issues. Plus, the price is unbeatable—such a great value!
absorbs well. I either mix with a protein shake and a little ice cream or in a large cup of hot coffee. I've been trying to heal a broken bone and I've never been able to get enough calcium. This is perfect!
dissolves easily
A nice fine pwder. It's in a resealable pouch. Arrived quickly and on time
So happy I found this company. ;)
Flows more easily than the NOW product; bag is more compact to store than the giant bottle. Dissolves equally readily. Please note that 1mg of any of the powdered supplements is *not* 1mg of elemental calcium, so you'll need to do math to figure out how much powder you need for a particular calcium RDA target, but it's not scary math.
i havent had my blood work taken again so i dont know if it works that way. im betting it does. No aftertaste. I mix 2 tsps in my morning and evening smoothy. I am very low and have a hard time absorbing calcium. im also taking lots of D - you must do that for the calcium to absorb at all. thats my only "beef" with it. Tge product contains no D so if you dont know thats necessary, taking it is all for naught.
I have been a long-time user of UPCAL-D as I need extra calcium. With the UPCAL-D product discontinued, I needed to find a replacement. Bulk Supplements seems to meet my needs. In addition it's cheaper and more “concentrated” — looks like I can use half the powder than I was using with UPCAL-D. But I haven't been using it long enough to give it a five-star review, at least not yet. But it definitely looks promising.
Very easy to mix in liquid of choice, no smell or discernable taste to the product. It is a little gritty but that is to be expected with type of supplement. I usually add mine to coffee or juice with pulp, it's especially good with the juice as I don't notice the texture of the supplement as much.
