Used it in a Lenten Meal for Ash Wednesday(Arrabiata(spicy) Sauce with Gnocchi-in case). ; ) No nasty smell, when I opened the can. Nice piece of parchment on top(remember to remove-says it on the can, too). Tasted just fine, looking forward to trying it again(maybe seafood salad). Yes, I would recommend this product. ; )
This lump crab meat I was pleasantly surprised was very good. I added it to a seafood gumbo and it was very good a bit pricey but you're also getting quality lumps of crab meat. Goodbye.
Used in a gumbo ,Was so good and very affordable, Just add shrimp, sausage and roux and crab boil pinch of seasoning and of course the holy trinity and you got gumbo in about 45 minutes,Yym !
I used this to add to the canned white crab meat. This particular product is much more expensive however and the lumps are not that large to make a huge difference. For that reason, probably will stick with the lesser expensive crab meat in this brand. is however a good source of protein.
this is a good product for making crab salad or putting into a it salad to perk it up. If you want the best grab there is going to the pretend fishmonger, get a big can of the crab claw meat. It is delicious even eaten straight out of the can. makes me think of the ocean and has such a wonderful texture and a taste that's very familiar for someone who used to eat them with him an hour of picking them out of the ocean. It's the only brand I would truly say is five star.
i usually buy the refrigerated Phillips lump crab meat but because it's so expensive now I opted for this and to my surprise this was just a good in my seafood rice.
The item was tainted and caused severe stomach ache vomiting and diarrhea when ingested. I fear that the product was not inspected properly or was not properly handled, or stored properly and as a result bacterial growth created a contaminated product.
INSIDE THE CAN WAS A MIXTURE OF A LOT OF WATER AND MINISCULE PIESES OF WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE LUMP CRABMEAT IT LOOKED LIKE SOMEONE VOMITED IN THE CAN THE WORST IMITATION CRAB MEAT I EVER HAD IN MY LIFE WAS WAY BETTER THEN THIS CRAP AND IT COST ALOT LESS
There were lumps, but this tasted nothing like crab meat. it was like fish dipped in chemicals. If a glob of Hellmann's can't make it edible, it's beyond redemption. Even the imitation crab is more palatable than this.
I used it to make quiche, and it turned out terrible. It's bland and flavorless. I was expecting some sweetness, but I guess you, for what you pay, can't really expect good quality for the price
