This toy arrived very fast. Packaged very well as to avoid damage in shipping. Colorful box. Mega pack, over 400 pieces! Gives many ideas on the box front and back. Easy to take out of the box but cal also be stored in the original box if desired. Squish them. Connect them. Create many fun things. Box said for ages 4+ and older, assuming because these do fit in the mouth so a choking hazard. Of my gosh, very fun and addicting. Contains 50 blue, 50 green, 50 purple, 50 yellow, 50 orange, 50 red, 20 white, 50 black, along with a guide book and 36 accessories! Bat wings, teeth\mouth, eyes, glasses, etc... Kind of like a Mr potato head but with these. Very easy to use. Just push together to connect, pull to remove. Looking for something different but still creative? This is so cool. Very fun to watch what she comes up with. We have been through all the fads over the years. From beads to playdoh to make bracelets out of rubber bands. My goodness the things they have come out with. But this one she has spent hours and hours playing with. No mess no stains. Plenty to work with. Really super fun. Highly recommend this for anyone. I would go so far as to say this would make a cool adult gift as well. Really fun !
I have 12 grandchildren from ages 4 months to 6 years, 5 grown children three sets of twins, I picked this from Spark Reviewer as I thought it would be a great learning experience for my 6 year old grand daughter as I enjoy playing with them, the box states 4+ years as I wouldn't buy this Bunchems Mega Pack for a child under age six as there are many small parts and small enough parts that are made of plastic for adding arms, hats, wings, eyes, many different parts or just using their little thoughts of creating just about anything as a book as shown in pictures gives many ideas. This is for boys to not just little girls. I've read some reviews about the pieces come apart I have found that if you press the circles together (not just picking up a color and attaching them holds in place) This set comes with 50 black, blue, red, yellow, green, purple, orange and 20 white with a small plastic bowl has some extras in it as I feel it would be a great idea for you and your child to place the colors they are working with at the time. Bunchems with 36 accessories (small parts) I do recommend this product to children age 6 and over not 4+ the colors are bright and colorful and can be reused many times, easy to wash let them air dry on a towel. I strongly recommend adult supervision ages 4-6, this products is great for parents/grandparents quality time together- Again if you attach the circle area against each circle firmly they hold much better. As in one of my photos show the circle showing while the other is attached they do hold. (The pink circle showing don't attach as well.) I hope my review has help others as the Bunchems Mega Pack is a fun learning experience.
Typically I would avoid anything that comes with warnings to avoid and instructions on how to recover from getting Bunchems out of your hair. I am glad I threw caution to the wind on this one. If you have ever walked through a field in the summer and ended up with burrs stuck to your pant legs - you pretty much know how Bunchems work. These are small little balls covered in Velcro like hooks that latch onto other Bunchems (or sweaters, blankets, or fleece). There are nearly 400 Bunchems in 8 different colors included with the kit. Additionally there three dozen accessories like legs, eyes, hand, arms and hats to attach to your Bunchems creations. The concept is solid and very easy for a child to grasp and enjoy with almost zero help from an adult. They package includes designs you can create, but the imagination is much better. Worried about the issue with Bunchems getting stuck in hair, we got a couple of volunteers to see just how difficult it would be to get a Bunchem out of one's hair. The most difficult part of the process was getting one stuck in the hair in the first place. With exceptionally long hair you can stick a Bunchem in next to the scalp and it can be a challenge to get them out. But that takes effort just to get the Bunchem into the hair in the first place. Overall, I would highly recommend the Bunchems Mega Pack!
My review today is on the Bunchems Mega Pack. The box arrived very quickly with no damage. It was packaged well with each color of soft plastic ball/spur things separate. It also has little plastic accessories kind of like Mr Potato head for hats, eyes, feet, arms, etc. My adult son and five year old granddaughter played first. They followed the picture on the front and made the huge caterpillar thing. There were plenty of pieces to complete this project and more. During this build, they found that squishing them together works, but is not secure enough to make large standing creations. If you attach at the circle it is more secure. Either way, they were not discouraged by this feature. Next, we had a 4 year old, a five year old, an 11 year old, and a 12 year old all play with this set together. They made their own creations and had soooo much fun. There were plenty of pieces and they played for a few hours. They were a great toy for all age groups. Finally my adult daughter and 5 year old granddaughter played together. They also had lots of fun. Great toy for creative adults, too. This adult daughter decided to test the idea that the plastic burr things stuck to unwanted things. She put one in her straight hair. It stuck, but if you took out the hair a few strands at a time, it came out rather easily. Like you would remove a burr from a dogs hair. She then stuck one to my granddaughters very curly biracial hair. Again it stuck, but was able to be removed by a few strands at a time being removed. If the child would have tried to remove it by just yanking at it it would have been a real problem, so be sure to address this issue with the younger children before they play with it. They then tried to stick them to the furniture, clothing, blankets, and carpet. They did not stick. They also did not stick to the poodle with short but not shaved hair. Overall, this toy was fantastic for all age groups but I would recommend close supervision with younger children. Great for boys as well as girls. We put each color of the ball like things in their own zip lock bag and the accessories in one, too. Then we just put the baggies in the box for easy storage future play.
The Bunchems Mega Pack is a cute idea for kids who like to craft. My daughter is 7 and loves to play with these and see what she can make out of them. The kit comes with 50 each of various colors and loads of accessories like feet, eyes, antennas, etc. There's also a guide that shows how to make several different things. The Bunchems themselves are a plastic material. Each prong has a tiny hook on the end which allows them to attach to each other. There's a hole on one side of each Bunchem where an accessory could be added. You really have to push these together to get them to hook together but I guess that is where the bunching comes in. We tried to coil them and the directions give a hint to attach them in a straight line first then to coil them. After the line was done and we started to coil them a lot of them fell out of the line. We found it easier just to stack them. I think you need a whole bunch together in order to make a sturdy figure. In the picture I've attached you can see the flower my daughter made on her own. We will keep doing this because she really wants to make something that is durable enough for her to play with. I will most likely be getting some expansion packs so that there are more for her to use.
I received the mega pack of Bunchems to review for free from BzzAgent. When I first received the box I was very excited as well as my 10 and 3 year old girls. The box and the instruction booklet showed all these cute things you could create and I was ready to make one of my very own. I was surprised by how many pieces came in the box then I realized it took many to create a small figure. There are a variety of colors and accessories (hats, eyes, etc.) It seems really easy at first connecting and squishing them together. I found when trying to make one of the figures they have in the booklet it was hard! They either turned into blobs or fell apart. We made sure we squished them and connected as it said but they still fell apart. If you made a larger figure it would fall over and did not stand up as shown on the box. The eyes, hats, wings etc didn't stick well either. My 10 year old stopped after 5 minutes and said it was too hard and that hers looked nothing like the box. My 3 year old just like pulling them apart and putting the blobs back together. This was not the right toy for our family. I feel that someone that's really creative and has patience would love this product but not us.
These colorful plastic sticky balls remind me of the round spiky balls that fall from chestnut trees. Where you can create many different characters with them, we found them to be time consuming to create. They are nice to look at once you're done making something, but because the individual balls easily fall apart, they are not something that can be played with or moved too much, once you do create something. For that reason alone, is why I deducted 2 stars. They are nice and light, so maybe they can be a good take along pack for traveling, but it is not something that a younger child would enjoy for too long. Other than the pictures that are included - the fact that each piece is the same size as the next (except for the different colors), to a great extent, it limits what you can make. This is clearly an old fashioned project for an inside "game" if you are really bored with your kids. It will take a lot of imagination for a child to make the most of the sticky balls and kudos to anyone who can make them more than the sticky plastic balls that they are; they also easily get other things stuck on them if you are playing on carpet, such as hair and lint. Now if a child psychologist wanted to make it a way of evaluating people, and say something like what can you make with 50 balls? Then maybe this product would have its ideal market. As for inventive, and attention holding value, for us, it just wasn't there.
The box provides instructions for what is needed to make roughly a dozen creations, or you can freestyle and make up your own shapes/creatures. My nephews had fun with the squishy critters. I was surprised the pack didn't include storage for the Bunchems. Their first attempt didn't turn out well but as we practiced we figured out how to get them bunched together and make the animals or people stand properly on their legs. I would recommend them if you have a child that is creative and has the patience to work with them. There is a warning on them stating to keep them away from hair.
this product is a great distracter for the child using it,but if you are planing to assemble a few things with the kids you'll need to buy a few extra sets. it can be used as a teaching tool as it has many colors and can also help when your child is learning to put things together. all in all not a bad product, just not a home run.
We were really excited about getting the opportunity to try out Bunchems and see what we could create. Upon opening the package we were greeted with over 400 colorful little squishy balls and a variety of accessories. The Bunchems Mega Pack allows limitless possibilities for you to build 3D creations. Add eyes, feet, hats or wings to your critters to make them even more realistic. The balls easily stick together, and you can squish them and bunch them in all kinds of ways. My daughter loved playing with them - initially. Tragedy struck when our long haired cat decided to investigate and ended up getting several of the pieces wrapped up in his hair. NOT a happy camper! They latched on to the hair follicles and only seemed to get deeper embedded in his fur the more we tried to get them out. They're exactly like Mother Nature's hated burs that attach to anything and everything if you even walk close to them. Thankfully my daughter's full head of long, beautiful hair escaped unscathed. Better safe than sorry, these things went straight in to the garbage. Do yourself, your family, AND your pets a favor and pass on these little nightmares.
