Burpee Eco-Friendly Natural & Organic Seed Starting Mix, 16 Quart Soil

This stuff is great for starting seedlings. We mix it with another product for a richer seedling base. everything is cranking in our grow room, until we can get stuff moved outdoors.

It being a light and fluffy seed starting mix is why I believe I had a great germination rate. I had used another brand using the same seed packet and those got moldy.

Used it for the first time and bought another one. Really great seed starter better than Mir*cle gr*w competitor with about the similar price range.

This dirt is the best for starting seedlings.

A very dry mixture of potting coco core. I could water this stuff and a 1/2 of the surface would be dry in an hour. I do see any extra fertilizer that would help seeds grow. I tried germination thyme, chives, and dill but nothing developed. However, I did not get oregano, cilantro, basil to do well with this mix.

Your seeds will start but they won't grow. I've been starting my own seeds for about 5 years with no problems using Black Gold brand. I tried the Burpee this year and everything germinated great! And then they stalled. When I took the plants out of their containers this weekend, the roots were stunted and thin. Burpee just doesn't have the nutrients to keep your plants growing after germination.

None of my plants did well in this mix. Annuals and perennials. Not sure why. Maybe the coconut husks or something else but using this set me back quite a bit of time. Had to reorder seeds and restart.

Something is seriously wrong with this product!!! I am not sure where those positive feedback came from which misled me to beginning with… By using this product, not only no seeds germinate, also this soil killed my favorite plants. Unfortunately, I purchased two big bags of this product and learned my lessons in a hard way… I will make sure to share this important info with all my friends - DO NOT BUY this product and I will stay away from this brand!!!

This item came to me with tape on it because it had been ripped open. It had a noticeable amount of soil missing in the bag. Check the photo left by the delivery person. It shows the taped end. It shouldn't have come from the store this way.
