Burpee Fordhook Favorites Nasturtium Flower Seed

I bought a pack of these last year and every seed germinated so I bought another pack (another brand) a few weeks later and they all grew but one. I'm not sure if these are mounding or vining. They look much different. I ended up with one of each and don't remember which was which. Otherwise, they looked very much alike. The one in the morning sun did better than the one in partial shade most of the day. Also, I just noticed this packet says to scratch with nail file. I actually soaked my seeds overnight and planted the next morning both times - covering very lightly with soil. So, not sure if I was just lucky, or if either method actually works.

Difficult to rate seeds until they actually germinate. Package is pretty.

Bought these last year (2024) for the first time and realized what an amazing annual flower it is. Extremely colorful, prefers ground planting, and continues blooming well into fall, even had beautiful blooms after several freezes and snow!!! Love it.

Love these flowers, i bought them lastyear they did great. I have bought more fot this year in a different garden bed. very easy to grow. Beautiful and colorful flowers

great germination and healthy plants

I purchased 2 packs of these seeds. Each pack contained about 30 seeds. All of them sprouted!

Not many seeds per package, about 30 seeds. So far one in of the 2 in a pot has a good sized seedling, but 2 others planted in the ground have not germinated after one month. Next time I will try another brand.

Burpee is a great company. I'm sure these seeds will perform well for what there are of them. It's really unbelievable though that one gets so few seeds and costs so much money. Growing a garden these days is an expensive hobby. I'm old but remember when we sold seed packs for the PTA for 10 cents a pack and got much more content.
