Burpee Fordhook Giant Swiss Chard, Annual Vegetable Seed, 1-Pack, Full Sun

I love being able to pick these fresh and put them immediately in my food. I have mine by my back door in the flower bed so they are easy to reach in my pj s. I like them with eggs. It says they are annuals but since I live in zone 8, mine over winter, so I'm still enjoying them until the new ones come up in the spring. The new ones have very large leaves. No need to pull them up, just pull off the outer leaves.

Just planted these seeds. We bought them last year with great results and had Swiss chard in our garden through the frost. Hopefully will have the same results this year .!!

Using the seeds I can plant in the spring and again in the fall for a continuous supply of fresh greens. Placing the pots in a mini greenhouse they were protected from bugs and the growing season extended into cooler weather.

As far as I can tell, I had 100% germination, can't wait to try the Swiss chard when it's fully ripe.

Planted seeds (they germinate quickly) last week of February. Well, it's the last week of May and the plants still have not matured. Still waiting for harvest time.
