Burpee Kitchen King Garden Bean Seeds - Bush Bean, Vegetable Gardening Seeds, 1-Pack

C'mon, Wally, it's a tad early to plant green beans in Maine in January! Ask me again in July and August. These are our go-to beans, but we haven't been able to get the seeds since 2024. I'm sure they'll be great this summah, but a bit early to ask now. Will be 4 below tonight.

I have planted these beans in years past, and I've always had a fruitful harvest. These bush beans are convenient because you need no support like climbing versions, but I've done that too and it's also fun. I trust the Burpee brand and I've never had issues with germination. If you leave them on the vine too long, they dry out and don't taste right, but that is with all beans- so don't miss out on a good harvest! Picking them smaller and earlier just makes them tender, and is always preferred to leaving them on the plant too long.

Love shopping at Walmart for my everyday needs, but now for my garden seeds. Instead of paying highway robbery for less than a dozen individual seeds at the large garden centers or online, I now buy my seeds at Walmart and get free delivery with my Walmart plus membership! The germination was great, I planted 8 and 7 sprang up. They are strong and instead of weeding out the smaller ones, I just gifted them to neighbors. I can buy my garden seeds, many of them heirloom for often times for less than $2 per packet. I also buy my fertilizer, soils, amendments as well from Walmart. Will update with photos later at harvest.

This is our second package of seeds. The cold weather killed off our vegetable garden and we wanted to plant more beans - delicious.

I've been planting a garden for years and know it's rare to get 100% germination has come close a couple of times; but am very disappointed in my seed purchased this year! Not only have they decreased the seeds in each pouch to the point it takes about 12 pouches for a decent row of green beans
