I almost didn't buy this foundation after reading the reviews. I live in a humid state and I have HUGE Pores and somewhat oily skin in the t-zone and dry on my forehead. I have had a great experience with this foundation. It kind of diminishes the look of my pores better than others. I know my pores will never go away, but it made them less noticeable. It wasn't cakey at all and stayed on all day and I sweat a lot! It didn't look like I was trying to cover anything but looks natural. It isn't a heavy coverage like I am used to but I like that now!! I was over doing my foundation. One tip is to clean your face before applying!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely love this product!!! It goes on smoothly, provides amazing coverage, lasts all day. Skin looks incredible, it's very light weight, and not greasy at all. I love that it has a pump to keeps the product from drying out and from spilling. The design of the bottle cap is super cute as well. Highly recommend this product
I have been inquiring about this foundation to Burt's Bees but no one will answer me. Are you discontinuing this foundation? If so, what is replacing it? I hope it's something similar! Please let us know! I am wondering if I should go back to Clinique!?
I really like this foundation and for the price it's worth it. It does cover very well. This is also almost the only foundation that matches my skin tone exactly. I really hope Burt's bees would come out with a matte version of this. I have combo-oily skin and this makes it glow a bit too much. I carry oil blotting papers. But, I normally carry those anyway. PLEASE make a matte version Burt's bees!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm so impressed with the quality of this foundation. It gives great medium to full coverage but it looks super natural on the skin. It isn't super dewy but it has a beautiful lit from within sheen. I also love the glass bottle and pump. This product is available at the drugstore but the packaging has a super high end feel. If you have oily skin you will definitely need to set this with powder, but if you have normal to oily skin you will definitely love this product. This product was sent for me for free in exchange for the honest review but all opinions are my own.
As an older woman (55), concealer with foundation over it was accentuating the creases around my eyes instead of hiding them. This foundation is heavy enough to mitigate the redness and dark circles under my eyes without having to use concealer, which I like. The Ivory goes on very pale but once spread all over and the rest of my makeup applied, it looks great. The pale color really made my dark features pop again after years of using foundation with a slight tan caste, yuck. It is a thicker foundation so does not glide like a light foundation, but like any new product, it just takes a few days to adjust to how it works. I apply with my fingers. In the second picture here, half my face is this foundation, the other none so you can see how well it mitigates the dark circles around my eyes. Love the color, coverage, natural ingredients, and Burt's Bees' steadfast mission to provide healthy, affordable skin products.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Light coverage foundation, blends very easily. I got the shade Almond Beige, which has a slight pink undertone. Big fan of the pump, and how sleek it looks. Packaging gets an A+. Only thing is they don't have much shades, but then again, it is new. Besides that, GREAT foundation!!
I have been wearing this foundation for a bit shy of a year now, and love it. It has been the only affordable, organic foundation that has a decent coverage and will stay on all day. My acne is really bad and it doesn't cover it completely, but with a concealer I am fine. I have easily found my shade (Ivory) and I like how it looks on my skin. My only complaint is the shade range. I am quite pale so it doesn't affect me, but others can't buy this product because it is so focused on fair-to-medium tones. I would love if Burt's Bees added (a lot) more to the deeper shades so more of my friends could use this foundation.
PROS: Color selection. Lightweight yet surprisingly good coverage. Great for mature skin. Oily skin did NOT slick this up...by far the best foundation for ULTRA LONG wear without shine. CONS: Goodness sakes...smells like rancid cooking grease going on. After powder set, you no longer smell it, but it is bad when applying, so much so that I thought my brand new bottle was expired. Would be a 5 but for the obnoxious smell.
I have always loved Burts Bees products and was stoked when all the makeup came out. I planned to switch my entire routine to all BB's products. I started with lipstick that I love and then bought the burts box to get a feel for all the makeup except the foundation. After loving all that I decided to purchase foundation. I purchased the liquid and the BB cream AND the mattifying powder. No matter what combination I use it makes my face look both cakey AND oily. Around my nose and chin will look super dried out and flaky while my forehead and cheeks are oily looking and it comes off very easily. I can't figure out how to make any of it look proper! By the end of my day my face looks super oily and splotchy and uncovered. I am so sad! I would love to use entirely burts products! They've got great ingredients and quality! Sadly I feel as if I've wasted a good chunk of money on the foundation though. It also makes me appear very pale. I am usually one of the lightest colors available but there's something about these tones that makes me look sickly pale.
