Because of the name, I assumed that this would be delicious. I was wrong. I will not purchase again. Very disappointing. The potatoes tasted like instant potatoes made with water nut milk. The meat and sauce left a lot to be desired as far as flavor.
The portion is way small. You’re really just paying for the name because the food is average. The potatoes on top taste like instant potatoes. It’s too pricey for what it is. Marie Callender’s had a better one. Not sure why Walmart doesn’t have it anymore
I had high hopes bc it’s Gordon Ramsey but low expectations as it is a frozen meal. Wouldn’t buy it again. There was a lot of gristle in the meat which I found odd. The taste was good! But not worth the funky meat. I also bought the slow roasted beef %26 the meat was SO tuff that I gave it to my dogs. Gordon Ramsey should try his own frozen meals bc this would never fly lol.
I don't like wasting my money and if i buy something for this price I'm going to try and get it down... but this i couldn't imagine even eating another bite. The beef was kinda slimy(not spoiled slimy just fatty slimy), the potato was more palatable but still very disappointing. It all just look like mush and I'm surprised at this because his lasagna was cool i would get that again but I'm staying away from this one.
Food was very soupy, and very spartan in quantity. I was even hungrier after eating it! Portion size was sufficient for a grade-school aged child, but not for a healthy adult. Being the creation of a professional chef, I expected A LOT BETTER AND MUCH HUGHER QUALITY.
I guarantee Gordon Ramsey would not eat this slop. Jon Taffer would urk it up as on one show. It's buried in watery gravy..never had Shepherds Pie with gravy. Thin layer meat %26 veggies. Veggies mush soft not firm like fresh would be.. Potatoes like boxed taste.
When I seen a meal created by my favorite Chef Gordon Ramsay!!! I automatically thought this has to be amazing because Chef Gordon Ramsey wood never never ever never put some rubbish with his name on it. Folks this absolutely is RUBISH from its name on down. First, this is not a shepherds pie. This is a Cottage pie. Shepherds pie has ground lamb not ground beef. Anyone that loves Shepherds pie knows this. Second Shepherds pie also has a considerable amount of 1/4 cut vegetables, onions, carrots, celery, finely diced cloves of garlic, and Peas. It could also have corn, mushrooms or even parsnips depending on what people had when they had when they made it, what ever they had it was fine cut and cooked soft and mixed into the ground lamb. This frozen "shepherds pie" has none of these items mixed into this pile of greasy beef covered in dehydrated instant potatoes. I would say that ive just about watched every show Gordon Ramsey has ever been in. Every restaurant make over I ever saw him make over started with the kitchen, the freezer and the menu. Not 1 time did I ever see him serve anything that was frozen, never ever. The Gordon Ramsey that Ive watched and loved would have thrown this smartly in the trash, along with what ever cutlery and china he was served with. The final let down would be theres no oven cooking instruction but anyone that absolutely will not use a microwave would know. Preheat oven at 375° Cook in the center of oven uncovered for 60-65 minutes. It must achieve 160° Let rest for 5 minutes. I wish this review would make it to Gordon Ramsey. Let him know how disappointed his die hard fans are. If you like basic frozen Shepherds pie this one is as good as the next.
The packaging is wildly deceiving. The whole thing probably wouldn't even fill the tiny bowl that the banquet pot pies come in. And for $6! It was really good, but not for the price or size. I couldn't and wouldn't recommend this. I bought all of these frozen meals and I'm not looking forward to being disappointed by the amount of food in each one.
so disappointed in this one. I loved Chef Ramsay‘s chicken pot pie so I was hoping that this shepherds pie would be of the same caliber. It is not it looks and kind of taste like canned dog food. Definitely will not buy again. Do better, sir. You’re a professional chef, this is one level above slop. Definitely not your caliber of work.
You think something from a 5-star and world-known chef would have a better product. I was highly disappointed in this. I'd love to blindfold him and see what he says when he eats it. I will say that this one was a little better than the other's I tried. To use his words " What a shame ".
