This is a great option when you have kids and partners constantly loosing keys. I myself have locked mine in the house and had to resort to calling for help. This set securely locks your door without the need for keys and is easy to install. This sleek and modern touchscreen deadbolt allows homeowners to enjoy the convenience of 100% key free unlocking while enhancing curb appeal. Unlock your home without the hassle of keys by entering your 4-8 digit entry code on the keypad. Lock the door behind you by simply tapping the keypad. A matching passage handleset is included in this great bundle!
I love the quality of Yale brand products!! We had first experienced Yale in a home we bought. When we moved to a new home we tried installing another brand and had nothing but troubles with 3 locks we kept exchanging then said forget it let's get a Yale lock. I don't think we will ever buy another brand again since the quality is amazing!! The touch screen is awesome too!! When family comes into town we don't have to worry about hiding a key so they can get in when they arrive or are staying with us.
I have several Z-wave locks now and between this, Kwikset, and Schlage there's a reason I have 4 from Yale. Installation is easy and I can usually knock one out in 10 minutes or less. Even when counting the handleset I couldn't have put more than 20 mins in. Sure it's the 6th one I've installed but It's really as simple as: take the screws out of the bolt knob, take the screws out of the bolt plate on the end of the door and slide it out. The do it in reverse with the added step of passing the wires through and plugging them in. If it's your first time I've found the instructions to be adequate too.I never have problems with them but something to be aware of is the "handing" procedure. It's the locks way of finding which position is locked and unlocked for it. If things aren't working right you may have to step through the menu to initiate it again. What's really handy is the menu is just done through the touch pad but the options are all read to you out loud. It's a sweet feature that makes it so much easier even thought you'll rarely hear the voice ever again. Pairing with Z-wave has been flawless and quick. I don't even bring the hub closer to pair anymore because it just works.I like the Yale locks best for several reasons. The lock mechanism is much quicker and quieter than others and it doesn't seem to chew through batteries as fast either. The touch pads seem to be a lot more responsive than Kwikset too, especially when it's cold outside. Then there's just the general Z-wave response which may be in my head but they just seem to keep their connection better and respond every time. I've set multiple guest codes remotely when needed and they always work. I like to keep the sounds on too so you get positive feedback when entering a code. The added handle set is almost perfect. The handles are solid and I was surprised at the absolute lack of any slop in the movement. It's almost too tight where the knob seems to take a little more force than I'm used to. Nothing binds but it has a sturdy spring in it. My only issue is the cover plate for the knob. Maybe I just can't follow instructions but it doesn't seem like it wants to stay in place. It's just a pinch fit on part of the knob hardware and it seems too easy to pop it off if I push on it. All that said, it's not like you touch the plate very often so it doesn't bother me that much.I've tried a few other brands now and they work; but Yale is by far my favorite. When anyone asks me about recommendations for Z-wave devices it's the only one I mention.
First off, this is an absolutely stunning door handle . I have several of these Yale locks, both exterior and interior, and I've been really happy with all of them. This is probably the nicest one I own though. Quality wise, it's top of the line! The handle is really heavy, very solid, the touchscreen works great, and it's very easy to install. My only complaints about this product is that I wish the interior knob was a lever, and not a round knob. I have both Yale touch screens and regular button locks, so I will advise that you may want to consider how you are using the lock before deciding on the button style. If you have young kids, or live in cold weather, you may want to consider a regular button lock... as young kids struggle with the touch screen, and you will not be able to use your touchscreen with most gloves. However, the great thing about this lock is you can open it with your phone. This is such a life changing feature. Also, the feature that I love the most, is that I can get a notification if my front door is unlocked, which is a wonderful piece of mind if you have young kids.
I love that Yale has gone the extra step for the one lock that does almost it all. For me currently, I'm using more Z-Wave devices and the ability for this to integrate right into my existing setup is nice but it also allows me to look towards the future if I ever decide to go a different direction this allows me to make changes without having to worry about replacing the lock. This is my second Yale Security lock but my first one with more than just standard features. I look forward to playing with the new integrations and I will update this review as time goes on.
Honestly, my biggest dislike was drilling a new hole in my door, but the screw cover up they give you looks great after installation. Install was simple and not having a key is cool and scary. Now everyone goes out the front door. Then we paired it with a Smart-Things hub, first of many steps towards a smart home!
Well, it's time for "old dogs to learn new tricks," including me. We stayed at an AirBnB that had one of these kinds of wireless, keyless locks and it was incredible. So easy! I was very happy to find one to try out at my own home, and it works like a charm. I had it professionally installed and it fit where the old lock was and I couldn't ask for more. Haven't used it for very long, but so far, it's 5 stars all the way. Thank you for an excellent product!
Works great with any zwave plus system including home assistant or hassio. It's easy to setup and use. You must make the deadbolt hole in the door jamb deep enough for the deadbolt. If it's too shallow, the lock will try to lock, show an X on the keypad, and try again. This will quickly wear out the batteries. The batteries lasted for 3 months when the deadbolt hole was too shallow. I made it deeper and the batteries have lasted more than 6 months now. The user codes can be updated via zwave plus or from the keypad. It also has a privacy button to lock out all key codes except the master code.
Very very nice! I love all the capabilities this lever has. It looks so classy on my front door with the handle that comes with it! It is especially great for my high school daughter so she doesn't have to carry a key around with her and I don't have to worry about her losing it. It was simple for my husband to install and program and is working great.
Works great, app is easy to use although I can't add photos of any of my guests.
