Cabot Creamery Seriously Sharp Cheddar Cheese Block 8 oz (Refrigerated)

Cabot white Cheddar has been a favorite cheese of mine for many years... When I can find it, the "Seiously Sharp" is my choice. I love it melted on cornbread, beans, mixed veggies, or just about anything else... Arrange it on a large plate of saltine crackers; 'nuke' it for a couple of mins, and that's some real snackin'... Just wish it were a little easier to slice... It's a real 'pain' for 87-year-old hands to slice neatly, but I shall persevere... LOL

Everything is too expensive for me these days, but otherwise this cheese gets the stars! The name isn't explicit enough, so be aware it is NOT extra extra sharp. But it is extra sharp.... in a delicious way. Very smooth texture and cuts densely with a sharp knife - on the classy end for texture. The flavor is crisp/clean/cheesy and thus sharp. I was surprised as it was not a brand name I'd had luck with in the past. I will definately use it from now on, though ... very good cheese!

For a lactose intolerant person to be able to eat cheddar cheese without having to take anything to process it it's amazing. Cheddar cheese is my favorite and for a very long time I've had to be careful when eating it even after taking my lactase enzime supplement.

White cheddar is the unsung hero of the cheese world. It offers all the sharp, complex tang you expect from a great aged cheddar, but with a beautiful, buttery creaminess that sets it apart. unopened Cabot seriously, sharp cheddar cheese with an expiration date or buy date of December 2026 was filled with mold when I went to use it a couple of weeks later.

Date of purchase 12.18.2025; expiration date 10.15.2026. Today's date is 2.9.2026, discovered while prepping for dinner. Stored in garage refrigerator since purchase, since I only shop for full orders 2x times per month. I don't believe I'm being unreasonable in thinking this should last until best by date... I don't think this is a Walmart issue, but manufacturing/distribution. Fortunately I requested a return of money paid and it was granted. Kudos to Walmart for not asking me to return this spoiled item to the store!

I received this cheese 2/23 I opened it on /26, this is the condition I found it in. It’s not out dated but air must have got into the package. I certainly will not eat it.

When we got home and unpacked the order it was covered in mold.
