Well this is now our second Cafe appliance. We replaced a 20 yr old 2 zone dual door wine cooler that has server us well aside from overheating on occasion and generating a ton of heat on the surrounding cabinets and counter top. We weee afraid this unit might exhibit many of the same symptoms, but to our surprise, it doesn't. As a matter of fact, it is exactly the opposite. To make things even better, we no longer need to jam the larger bottles like Chardonnay into racks that don't fit those bottles as the top rack for each zone accommodates them nicely. So happy with this purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This beverage cabinet offers me more space for my wine then my previous cabinet. The only minor drawback is that large bottles only fit on the top rack unless racks are removed.
So pretty and holds a lot. Love the dual zones and the backlight
The shelving spacing is extremely tight for sparkling wine bottles. I have to use the single shelf that designed for magnums and even then, with some bottles by the time you put 4 in place the nest 'slot' has to be skipped. Although the concept of rollout shelves is good, I'd rather have a simpler and more flexible racking system.
If you are intending to utilize the advertised capacity of this wine refrigerator, beware. The shapes of 750 ml wine bottles vary based on the type of wine they contain, with the differences largely rooted in tradition, function, and regional winemaking practices. Each shape serves practical and historical purposes, signaling to consumers what kind of wine is inside. It is common for bottle shapes to be slightly larger, have high shoulders versus low shoulders or tapered necks. Some bottles are wider, etc. The next time you are at the wine store shopping for a nice red take note. The problem with this wine refrigerator, is the advertised capacity. If you have any variety of wines at all other than one or two specific bottle shapes, it will not be possible to achieve the advertised capacity. The bottles just do not fit together when alternated according to the rack design. I have a few collectible wines, but most of my wine comes from the grocery store and is nothing special. As I attempted to load this wine fridge, I ran into multiple situations where the bottle just would not fit. They design is such that there is no tolerance for variation. Simply put, the bottles need to be skinny, with a low or taper neck. I was hoping to get at least 40 bottles in this unit, but was only able to get 27 or 28. Meanwhile, there is a shelf that appears to be a regular drink can or bottle shelf on the bottom which I have no use for. I wish Café had just advertised a 30 count wine refrigerator and allow room for the variety of bottle shapes that actually exist in the real world. Bummer.
We overpaid for a wine fridge that struggles to hold normal size wine bottles. We didn't realize how many bottles are slightly bigger than others. They get caught and the labels rip or they won't fit at all unless on the top shelf, and that only holds 8 bottles. This renders 80% of the wine fridge useless. We regret this decision every single day.
This wine fridge does not fit wine bottles as advertised. The racks are poorly designed and it only fits a small amount of very narrow wine bottles. One rack fits larger bottles and that's it. Extremely disappointed, especially given the price point of this product.
Wine fridge that doesn't fit wine bottles. The shelves are too close together and cannot be modified to accommodate a standard size Pinot Noir/Champagne bottle. Also will not fit any decent Napa red that uses a *slightly* thicker bottle. A wine fridge at this price point should accommodate a nice bottle of wine. This one does not.
I bought this to match my other Cafe appliances and it looks pretty from the outside. Inside it is very poorly designed. It will not fit anything other than a slender wine bottle so forget champagne. We go so tired, we finally just removed shelves to make things fit and lost a ton of storage room. I don't mind this, but there is a sensor light on this that you cannot turn off.
Except for the top shelf, whenever you pull out a shelf, the others tend to come along with it, which can damage the bottles. Very disappointing for the price paid. Not recommended.
