For our kitchen remodel we were looking to change to a 36" range, and evaluated many models available. Based on looks and features, we decided to go with the Café model. It has only been in use for 3 weeks so far, but we love the burners and the spacious oven. Having connectivity to the phone is great as well. Looking forward to getting the Turkey Gobbler feature loaded before we cook our next turkey. The range looks great in the middle of our kitchen and serves as a focal point behind the island.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The burners ignite immediately. The oven is big enough for two baking sheets side by side. 3 oven racks make this a perfect oven for large family cooking.
The overall quality of the range has been excellent so far. We get compliments about it from all our guests and it really is a statement piece in the center of our kitchen. The only grip I have is that the burners do not turn down enough and the wok burner makes a strange humming sound at any level above 5 when any pan is placed above it. We are used to cooking with stainless cookware and the only usable burner for cooking on lower heat is the simmer burner. The others are just too intense. The grates are really heavy duty. We are overall pleased.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the range, however my only complaint is the grate size over the burners. Be aware that if you want to simmer something in a small pot, that it is difficult to sit small pots on these grates. The center over the burners are fairly large, so it makes using small pots difficult. They do not sit on the grate opening, and the pot almost falls into the hole. I would not feel comfortable cooking with small sauce pots. I'll have to buy an after market grate to stabilize smaller pots
I have only used the oven 2 times so I don't think I can give it a 5 star rating yet. However, the cooktop is awesome. The 6 burners gives many options for the most complex recipe. The burners are well spaced and heat evenly. Using the controls for the oven is not as intuitive as hoped but that could be because I am not used to it. I thought when reading about the features that there was an air fryer option but I haven't seen this feature yet. This option is not on the dial but it may be accessed differently. I have not set up the WiFi control yet so I cannot comment on the feature. When using the oven, it heats quickly and cooks evenly.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pro's Its a nice looking stove where we have already gotten a lot of compliments. The controls are great, the oven is nicely sized for big things, like the convection aspect. Love how it connects to the vent hood. Love the variety of burners, the high heat one with the simmer function is awesome. The middle ones are also great. The optional griddle is awesome. Glad we went with the 36" rather than the 30" or 48", we still get the griddle without loosing 12" of cupboard and counter top surface. The wok burner is a cool feature, but pretty specialized. I didn't realize it had that when researching the stove. Easily ignites - almost too easily as I accidently leaned up against the starter controls when we first got it and started the operators manual on fire. Pretty easy to clean up Easy to connect to the app and be able to use the app. Nice to preheat the oven on my way home from work. Con's Burner locations. It would be really cool if the GE engineers could design a stove with moveable burners. We cook from the right hand side, and would have preferred the high power/simmer burner on the front right. The wok burner is pretty specialized and would have preferred it to be in the back and one of the 18,000 BTU burners to be in the front as we only use the wok burner once in a while.
I've had this oven almost two years and I'm on my third igniter. It works fine most of the time but very concerning that the OEM parts are such poor quality. WiFi connection is a nice touch but that doesn't always work either. I'd prefer if the burners had a bit more control, for most of them, the difference between low and high is minuscule. I usually end up using a 2 out of 10 for most things
You cannot self clean this oven and there's no help from GE. You would think for something this expensive that it would have self clean. The steam clean is not effective.
This appliance has not worked properly since it was installed. Oven works off and on and now has completely stopped warming up. We scanned the qr code when we registered for the extended 3 year warranty. It's only a year and a half old and GE keeps saying the warranty has expired. BUYER BEWARE
don't buy!the igniter doesn't glow properly (dim or no glow at all), there's no flame, no heat buildup, and crucially, the convection fan doesn't even start running—which it normally does right away. It just broken less than two years!
