Some assembly required. It only took a few minutes though. The sled is pretty heavy and seems very sturdy--maybe even over built. It is very stable and the elevation adjustment is quick and easy. It's much easier to sight in with than using sand bags. It's cheap. It's sturdy. It holds my rifle steady. Solid product for the price. 5 stars.
This thing is a must for any sighting in of your rifles, You can actually strap the firearm down and get a great zero. I did not opt for a weight as this item is heavy enough I think, but maybe if it was a larger caliber than a Creedmore. Thick heavy gauge steel and heavy duty hardware as well , item is not assembled but this only takes about 5 minutes if you have a power tool, 18 %26 19mm is all that is needed.
Lightweight, until you add the weight. The older models had an adjustable circular space for a weight, (like a 10" work-out weight plate). This model has a space for something like a sandbag. Any bag filled with a heavy substance will work. Personally, I liked the model that took a 10' plate. The elevation control is easy to use and the butt stock chamber is big enough for shotguns and sniper rifles. the rubber feet allow you to shoot off of a vehicle hood without damaging it, but I still put a blanket down first.
I have to say this is been one of my better purchases for working on my long guns rifles, shotguns and air rifles. It's very sturdy, well put together with heavy duty materials. Once you get it set up you can put a dual set of levels I use the 6” style levels one for vertical and one for horizontal get the ones with magnets on them. Once you put them on and have the Sled on something level you can set a scope up with no problem just make sure your firearm first and foremost UNLOADED, secondly set in the straight up position I not only use the front lockdown strap that is attached to the Sled but I added my own to the back and loop it around the frame under the just under the buttock with those two straps in place tight and your firearm straight up and down sitting in the holding mounts and you have to adjustment leveled out correctly you can rest assure your scope will be just as level. The great thing about this Sled is you can fire off of it and double check your setting of your scope or reticule etc. For me this is an all around great setup I'm looking at adding to it by purchasing the next step up from Caldwell. Firearms are like tools to me you can't have enough and can't have enough accessories to go with them.
Great product especially for the price.
I like the way you can test your ballistic and save on the shoulder
great stand to bore sight your rifle and using it to zero your aim.
This lead sled worked great sighting in my 243 rifle. Should have bought this item years ago.
the lead sled was delivered to my home the day i was told it would arrive. the box is a bit beat up, maybe it's been opened before, but hopefully that wont matter as the item itself should be durable. this is the 2nd lead sled weve had, so i know the product is good. Will try to update review with more helpful information after Christmas
First of all came in parts and not an instruction pamphlet at all in the box or on the box no diagrams. Returned for a refund.
