Granted it’s not as good as if you went to the restaurant. But for a frozen pizza I really enjoy it. I’m not big on a lot of greasy meat and I’m not one for vegetables all over either. But this flavor is very basic or neutral. And the crust is perfect. I don’t put it directly on the oven rack though, like it suggests. I always use a round pizza baking pan.
I use this flavorful pizza as a base and augment this pizza with frozen peppers, onions, and pepperonis. I add garlic and a variety of additional spices and dried herbs. Lastly topping with extra cheese. After cooking I pour a thin drizzle of EVOO over the whole pizza.
I was expecting a little more from this pizza given the brand name. But I felt that the crust, especially, could have been of a higher quality. It lacked taste and the texture was very dry. The rest of pizza was very good, however. The cheese was exceptional. It is worth a try!
A far cry from what it used to be! I started eating CPK’s margherita pizza in 2023 and I’ve seen the quality significantly decline since then. The appearance of the pizza doesn’t even match the box anymore, since the pizza no longer includes basil! The crust has also gone downhill in quality. I’m attaching pictures of when I first had the pizza in 2023 versus how it looks in 2026. It’s still decent as far as frozen pizza goes…unless the quality continues to plummet.
Used to be my favorite before they changed the product. They're smaller and are using inferior products, like the crust and toppings! Cheese is more like lab made taste and texture and the toppings cover only 9” of the 10.5” crust!! No longer will buy.
This is a margherita pizza, it's supposed to, according to the description on the box, have cheese, tomato, basil, and pizza sauce. It has on little blob of sauce and ZERO basil on it. Those 2 ingredients MAKE the dang pizza. I am going to ask for my money back 100%
I was quite surprised to open the box only to see it was a frozen crust with cheese and tomatoes only! A dry pizza! No Italian herb tomato sauce, no EVO, no basil! I did not want to drive out to return so added my own marinara sauce, basil flakes and seasonings. Maybe it was a new hire training?
I don't know what's happened to CPK but I've bought their margherita pizzas for years and have never had a problem. Lately quality has really gotten bad. The last two had over an inch of plain, bare crust all the way around and neither had any seasoning whatsoever. None! I sprinkled them with Italian seasoning but it was definitely not the same. They're too expensive to keep buying %26 hoping for improvement.
I have purchased these Margherita pizzas for years and they used to be delicious. All of a sudden the last 6 pizzas have had no basil and on the last 2, the toppings were not covering the entire pizza. Very disappointing especially since they are so expensive. It’s false advertising when the label says it has basil and it doesn’t and the pizza looks nothing like the picture on the box.
They changed the recipe and left off the basil. I contacted them and they said there is a basil shortage. They sent me coupons in the mail. But I wouldn’t buy it again until I knew they fixed the problem.
