Great Callaway Wedge!!
I bought 56 degree Jaws sand wedge as a replacement for a Mack Daddy sand wedge that was showing signs of wear and tear. They are so alike that I was able to order it online without trying it and have no issues with any idiosyncrasies.
Had a chance to play these for several rounds and absolutely shaved 2-3 strokes per side off my game. Previously played Vokey wedges but after switching have much better spin and distance control. Course I play has fast and firm greens so these have been a stroke saver for me.
I recently switched from playing Titleist Driver and Woods,AP1's and Vokey's wedges to the Epic Woods Mavericks irons and Jaws wedges. After having the clubs for a while I can say I have honestly dropped 3 almost 4 strokes (Index) from my handicap to a solid 10 HCP. What I have noticed is mishits are not as far off target line as they were before. At 62 I still hit a 7 iron at 160 yds with nice loft and less bounce. The wedges I bought have a 48, 54 and 58 loft and 10 degree bounce. My 48 is roughly 95 to 100 yds, 54 is in the 60 to 85 and the 58 is less into the green. It gives me a good spread for wind and conditions. Ball flight is consistent for the loft and the spin is tight with minimum roll. The only issue to be honest in the review I have is the 58 degree is taking some adjustment. I had a 60 degree with 12 bounce. I will say I don't think it is the club as it is more on me adjusting to the sand and shots around the green.
I like the grips on all my clubs to match. I bought two Jaws wedges at a retailer and needed to pay extra to regrip them. Retailer didn't carry the grind/loft combo that I wanted for a 3rd wedge so I ordered direct from Calloway. I was pleasantly impressed that I could order my grip model and & size and even add 1 extra wrap of tape. No extra charge. There were many other customization options that I didn't use. Quick delivery...less than a week. Highly recommend!!!
Almost always a Vokey wedge player. Picked up a buddies new Callaway Jaws on the course one day and ordered myself a pair (52 & 58) direct from Callaway within a week. Very happy with the product - nice feel and stock DG S200 shaft was a nice surprise. I usually special order or reshaft wedges to match my irons, but this time around these DGs are super smooth. Very playable for both low and mid handicap players in my opinion.
I've needed a new pitching wedge, as I've been using a 46 degree 10 bounce Vokey SM6 that I seem to launch like a lasor or over the green every single time. For me this is a 100-110 club comfortably and accurately. I had only three shots I needed the club for yesterday. One out of the sand from 107, and I was shocked at how easily I nailed the green as if there was no sand at all. Such a solid club face really wasn't fazed by the sand, but it was still soft enough to stick the green (in Arizona where they are hard right now). The other two shots were simple 105 shots from the fairway, and man did they feel good. Perfect loft, not much effort needed, and both were sunk for birdies.
2 star for Condition it came in, 5 star on Jawz wedges performance. I have another Jawz wedge that is a great club. I Purchased this one with higher loft in a Good Condition rating which isn't anywhere close to Good Condition purchases I've placed before. The club face has rusty gouges and scratches. The club head has excess glue on the shaft like it was reinstalled.
Shafts were advertised with spinner shafts. They showed up with some cheap callaway shaft that felt absolutely awful. I sent them right back. Callaway's QC is really slipping the last year or so.
Do not buy. Do not have groove in groove tech on face. Callaway knocking themselves off cheapening their product and brand.
