Calphalon Premier Stainless Steel Cookware, 3.5-Quart Sauce Pan with Pour and Strain Cover

Like the lid with a strainer on it so liquid can be poured from the small spout on the pot. That makes it handy for boiling vegetables and then poring out the liquid leaving the vegetables in the pot. The pot itself is quite heavy (like all Calphalon Stainless Steel) so it is not for the weak muscled cook.

This pan was really well thought out. Love the built in strainer in the lid. This size pan is just right for boiling potatoes and other items that require pouring off liquids. It functions perfectly with no hot steam hitting your hands when you pour off liquids and all contents in the pan stay in the pan and don't end up in the sink!

Are you looking for a sauce pan with pour spouts? This one delivers! No spills when pouring and even heating. Currently, I have only been using it for hot chocolate. But I know it will become the go-to sauce pan for anything that needs to be poured or strained or transitioned from stove top to oven.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cookware offers solid/sturdy (somewhat heavy) construction. I would have given it 5 stars except for two little things... The 3-ply rim is not really smooth (actually kind of sharp) and the bottoms are not perfectly flat (which is very desirable if you have a glass top stove). They rock a little bit on a glass top stove.

Beautiful pot, we love the straining lid and use it all the time. Only issue is that it is SUPER heavy, so it's not easy to handle when it's full of boiling water

I love the calphalon products. I would agree with a recent reviewer who wanted an additional handle on the opposite side of this pot because it is heavy. I have to carry it to the sink with hot contents, with a hand on the handle, and a hand underneath, protected by a potholder.

The sauce pan is excellent quality and very durable, but it is ridiculously heavy due in part to the lid. It is nearly impossible to drain out water by tipping it with one hand and holding the lid in place with the other. Both hands required on the handle for this effort. Almost makes me not want to use it.

Nice pots but unless they are cleaned and scrubbed manually they are discoloring. They are getting brown dots and marks inside the pots. We can no longer just rinse and put in the dishwasher. They are not pitting as far as we can tell but just not looking clean, which is not acceptable, therefor they no longer go in the dishwasher. Plus once stained they will no longer come clean, no matter how much you scrub and try to clean it.

Great piece—love the shape and functionality. Don't know if the lid I received is flawed or not, but the strainer holes do not align with the image of the strainer holes on the top of the lid…so if you're looking down on the pot/lid and align the image with the spout, the holes are offset so the pot cannot drain.
