We bought this twin over full bunk bed for our three daughters, ages 5 - 8. They LOVE it! Assembly is presented in a very straight forward manner. It is SO important to follow the instructions for assembly to a T. We initially installed the head board and base board backwards, because we weren't paying attention to the instructions. It is very helpful to have at least one, if not two, battery powered, automatic screw drivers to screw in the 100+ screws required for assembly. My husband and I assembled this bed in about 3 hours, not including the time it took to open the four separate packages and move all the wood up to the correct bedroom. Opening all the packages took an hour plus. If you're planning to assemble this bunk bed in one day from start to finish, with two automatic screw drivers, plan to allow 4-5 hours for assembly, possibly more if necessary. The twin and full bunk bed frames are detachable, and can be used in separate rooms, which was a bonus point for us. The wood is real wood, pre-varnished, and pre-sanded: beautiful product! One note for assembly: the room you assemble this frame in must be wide enough to accommodate the full frame and twin frame side-by-side. They must be assembled separately, then the twin frame is lifted up on top of the full frame. The tool that is included to screw in the bolts is too small to get much leverage. We used two allen wrenches that fit the bolt opening. Without allen wrenches, add at least 1 more hour to assembly. Some of the screws provided did strip. We used 1 3/4"" wood screws for some of the screw openings. So, in addition to what is provided in the packaging, it's good to have: automatic power tools, allen wrenches, and 1 3/4 inch wood screws for assembly. We bought the natural wood finish/ look and it's beautiful! The bunk bed looks exactly like the picture on the website shows.
