I bought these to add a little stiffness to my motorhome - not to jack it up - while it is parked. It seemed to help some, but did not completely solve the problem of the RV rocking when people walked around in it. However, it was improved some. They are rated at 6000 pounds each, but I put them on a board and made them only hand tight. These jack stands are amazingly light, and pack away to nearly nothing in the original box they came in. For the price (around $32 for four), it is quite a good value. I had looked for other jack stands, but these were the cheapest, lightest, smallest, and easiest to use, especially since they work with a large screw and not a ratchet mechanism.
They do the job I was looking for. I put them up under my spring mount on the campers frame to aid in any movement you might would feel in the camper when walking.
THESE STACK JACKS WORK GREAT TO TAKE THE WOBBLE AND SHAKE OUT OF A SMALL TRAVEL TRAILER! LIGHT WEIGHT, EASY TO USE, AND STORE EASILY BACK IN THE BOX THEY CAME IN TO TAKE UP VERY LITTLE SPACE IN THE VERY LIMITED STORAGE OF A SMALL TRAVEL TRAILER.
Excellent product. Use them for stabilization of RV. I run a 3/4 inch aluminum square tube between two jacks (purchased at Lowe's) and it does an excellent job of reducing the rocking of the RV when someone walks inside or goes in and out.
Looked at several differant jacks and determined these were the best for the job. Searched out the best price and found it at Wal*Mart
I use them to help stabalize my 12K lb. 5th Wheel RV. I like that they can stack when we are not using them. They were less expensive, easier to transport, and adjudt into position quickly. Seems like they should last a few years and at the cost replacing them is not going to break the bank.
It did what I wanted it to
Great value. Using them on utility and camper teailer.
**3 starred everything because this required a review to see my items in the app but have neither seen nor used them yet due to Wal-Mart turning a next day delivery into a 3-day delivery**
While these are rated at 6,000 pounds each, they do not have the appearance of handling such weight. I'm not saying they can't..., just that they don't appear that strong. The tower part of the jack is just under 9" tall. Each leg is 5/8" per face, or 1-1/4" if you count both sides of the leg. They are rated at 11" to 17" of adjustment. However, once the screw was turned above the halfway point they just felt tippy. Note that I did this test simply by elevating the screw and then pressing on it with my hand. In my case I elected to use enough blocking under the stand to so it operated in the 10" - 12" range. At that height they seem adequate. I'm basically using them to hold a utility trailer level and stable while I build a structure on it. The finished weight will be about 8,000 pounds. If you are in need of small, lightweight stands and can keep under the center of the height adjustment, I don't see anything wrong with these. But, if you are counting on attaining the 17" height or permanently supporting a lot of weight I'd look to steel stands that are limited to 2" adjustment. I believe there is a reason they make them that way.
