Great product , very sturdy and well made. Only part to put together is the two pieces of the mount that attaches to your trailer….
Item arrived prior to delivery date. The finish has a great shine on it. The attachments allow it to be attached directly on our RV.
This Olympian 5500 grill is just right for our RV. The right size and good temperature control.
Rarely do purchases result in total satisfaction: in this case, we were thoroughly pleased. We have a Forrest River Flagstaff travel trailer that came with what appeared to be a decent small gas grill that attaches to the side rails that come on the trailer. The grill disintegrated within the first year. Rust, cheap metal joints, uneven heat. I was glad when it got so bad we were forced to find another for replacement. The minute I took this grill out of the box, the quality, feel, materials were night and day different from the one that came with the trailer. I was so glad to see a cast iron heat dissipater that covers the entire cooking area, below the cooking crate and above the flame. All fittings connected to my trailer gas outlet perfectly, the support arm that connect to it and hangs on the rail is very sturdy and easy to put together. I turned on the gas to burn off the seasoning grease on the cast iron heat dissipater and let it run for about 20 minutes on med setting. On medium, with the lid closed, the temperature gauge read over 500 degrees F. Clearly there will be a need to pay attention to temp often, to make sure food doesn't burn or cook too fast. One issue is that the handle gets super hot, so I can see the need to always have cooking mittens handy at all times. All in all, it seems like a well made, stainless steel grill sized for two people. If all you are cooking is burgers, you could probably comfortably fit siz on the grill. Very positive first impression.
First impression... It is heavier and better than I was expecting!! I needed to buy an RV side mount bar separately, which I did. Once the bar is mounted, this grill will just hang from the side of the RV as we cook. I will also need to find a way to hook up the propane source, which I also expected, as this grill comes with a quick-connect fitting similar (Identical?) to the kind used on air hoses and compressors. I will eventually look for a way to hook it directly to my 20 gallon RV tank, but in the meantime I might need to take a 5-gal tank with me. The footprint of this BBQ grill is large when it is attached to the RV mount, and could pose a small problem storing as we travel, but I think I would rather deal with the storage issue then hassle with hooking the grill to the mount every time I want to use it. More later as I form my opinions. So far, so good.
I recently purchased a fifth wheel with the grill rail already installed. After research, I found this grill. After 5 minutes of recieving this, I was grilling. Works perfect with the rail and factory low pressure propane connection. Easy on the eye and quality construction.
All stainless construction except for the cast iron flavor plate. Ideal for trailers with existing propane plumbing. Removable drip pan for easy cleaning.
I bought this grill to go with our new camper. When I hooked it up the grill started right a way with just a few clicks on the starter. What I found was that this grill really gets hot. I made a few spinach pizzas and now I want to try a steak.
Beautiful and appears to be well made. A bit challenging to attach it to the rail arm with the 2 screws on the bottom. The two arm attachment screws are loosely held in the arm by a small washer when they are not screwed into the grill - hoping that they do not come out and get lost when the grill is not in use. Still gets really hot when set on lowest temp.
Nice looking, nice size, simple construction keeps it lightweight. Our issue is that it cooks very hot down the center line left to right which requires you cook half as much food so as to leave room for rotating it over the hot area or avoiding it all together.
