I have a 24" by 24" firepit i made out of brick. The grill top is indeed 24" and the legs swing out to straddle my firepit, holding it securely just like I expected. The grill came pre-oiled. I assume that's to "season" the thing as is done with cast iron pans, and that the oil is edible. The thing came so oily it soaked through the box. The grill grate isn't your usual parallel lines, but this diamond pattern may be easier for flipping fragile burgers. The big question is, are the screws that hold this together stainless? What will rust first? Time will tell.
It was exactly what we wanted. We used it over our campfire to cook our meals while we were camping for the weekend. We cooked eggs, vegetables, and hamburgers.
This is a well constructed fire grill - there is a larger one, but this 12"x18" version is perfect for our needs. The grate is a smaller opening screen (~1/2"), which works MUCH better than the "cheaper" versions, where the grate openings are ~1". The legs are "adjustable" (horizontally) by not spreading them all the way open - they are "stiff" enough to not collapse even if not all the way spread apart. We've "direct cooked" burgers, brats, etc... on it, as well as a coffee percolator and a 12" cast iron skillet. EVERYTHING worked fine and the grate has maintained its integrity. GREAT product!
Product works great and the perfect size for more than one pot/pan. Only thing to make it better would be a bag for the grill!
really like this hold great good quality.
I bought this for emergencies and camping. Very well made great price.
This is a nice size. However, in the picture it looks like the material is more durable, more heavy duty than it actually is. It is thinner than expected. I recommend you use this on embers and not direct fire as it start to change shape.
I used this camping and it worked great for burgers. I was afraid it would be difficult to use a spatual with the grate design, but it worked well. Cleaning it with a cloth or sponge could be difficult because the grate will tear them up, but a grill brush will do the trick.
Satisfactory and adequate. Thx
Seems a little light duty but does the job. I will probably get my machine shop to make it stronger. The design is fine ,it's just light duty. I guess that's what you get for your money these days!
