wonderful grill/smoker. so easy to use. OMG results. half the price of traeger and even better outcome. took me no time to assemble. highly recommend. save money to spend on meat and vegetables. BUY this company. I own several items made by this company, best quality super service. WIN WIN WIN.
I love this grill! Just set the temp and wait for the grill to heat up. You know when it's ready to put the food on. No waiting over the grill constantly checking the food. Cooks great and the flavor is amazing. Love it
This was a gift from my kids - Mostly assembled out of the box - the rest was easy to put together from directions that came with the unit. It took about an hour all together from unboxing to completion. The best part is the way that it is easy to start cooking right away - the controls were easy to understand and with the two temperature probes is pretty hard to overcook anything. The flavors are so much better with the smoke - it is hard to describe except the plates are always pretty bare after a meal. One tip is to make sure that you have the grease bucket squarely under the drip chute so that it does not drip on your decking or concrete - I messed up and it is hard to get the stain out. There is even a Facebook user group smoker smokers that helped out a lot with different recipes and ideas like smoking cheese and even pie recipes.
This is our 2nd Camp Chef Smoker. We had the last one for 6 and a half years. It served us well. Hoping this one does as well.
Husband loves it and did not complain about assembling❤️
The Camp Chef generally works as advertised. For the money it may be a real bargain but since I have never used another pellet grill I can't really compare. I have used the device a few times now and everything works. I had trouble with the mounting hardware for the legs. The holes did not line up with the brackets so I had to grind out the bracket slightly to get everything to fit. The only other issue I noticed is the temperature control is not as precise as I anticipated but maybe that is to be expected when feeding in the pellets trying to maintain a constant temperature. My unit will vary /- 30 degrees for periods of time while trying to achieve the proper temp setting. And that is on the low smoke setting which is supposed to provide the most constant temperature. For the majority of the cooking time, it stays within /- 15 degrees. At higher smoke settings I would expect the temp variation to be even greater. The low smoke setting provides only a minor amount of smoke flavor - barely detectable.
Instructions little tricky but not a big deal
preferred manual controls
Food tastes great. The computer menu is hard to navigate and figure out.
you might as well spend the extra money and buy quality because this isn't it. from assembly to production it fails. On the assembly, it was very tedious and annoying to get the parts to line up. The actual use of it worked fine the first go around with a "flame out" once but the next few times i lost flame and it actually exploded on me most recently for a 12 hour cook. the ash cleanout doesnt open. it just doesnt function.
