Makes a great cheese sauce for veggies like cauliflower and broccoli.
Amazing for cheese sauces and casseroles
Perfect for thickening cheese sauce with an added flavour
I love this cheese soup. It's not easy to find, not sold everywhere, and I use it in many recipes.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We like this product to use as a substitute in case we are out of cheddar cheese. Works great in quite a few casserole recipes.
I'm neither for or against this product. I was cautious using it as just a cheddar soup, so I added red potatoes, green onion, nutmeg, pinch of boullion cube, thyme, marjoram and black pepper and used my immersion blender to whip it all up. Much better because of the added flavour and texture. Bought one can just to try, but going forward I would be more likely using this as a sauce for veggies (asparagus, carrots, collards, broccoli..) or as an added ingredient in casseroles. Taste profile reminds me of Velveeta or nacho cheese. Consistency is creamy and slightly viscous- using recommended 1 can of water. Pleasant orange colour- like nacho cheese!
I used it as a sauce for pasta and could not eat it. Then I tried it just as a soup. Again, I could not eat it. I am not a fussy eater. This has a barely detectable cheese flavour. It's an orange goo with an attempt at a cheese taste. I would have bought it often if it tasted good.
This soup has no cheese flavour at all. It used to be so good. Has a nasty bitter taste and I'm glad I didn't add it to anything. I threw it out
only got 1 can and 1 can of tomato rice soup
About five years ago Campbell's changed and destroyed the flavor. It has a putrid taste now and I agree with others that it is not edible. It used to be great. Campbell's has been changing things for the worse in many ways. They have replaced great condensed soups with new variations that are inferior. eg minestrone, vegetable beef, tomato.
