Campbell's Condensed Beef Consomme Soup, 10.5 oz Can

Great flavor, saltiness is about right. When I want French Onion soup I saute some onions in butter (yes, it adds flavor and the French know), Then add the soup and a bit less than 1 can of water and simmer a few minutes. Meantime in my flat soup bowl, I put some dry slices of a nice roll or bread, broken up, then cover with shredded Swiss cheese, then pour the soup over the two bowls being sure to get some onions in each bowl. Voila! Good French onion soup.

Used this in place of vegetable bouillon when making Trisha Yearwood’s brisket recipe. Even my three-year-old granddaughter, who mostly eats only kid food, cleaned her plate and actually spooned up every bite of her gravy. We grownups also enjoyed it immensely!

Our family has always used beef consommé for au jus for our prime rib. I've tried other brands or basic beef broth but it's never the same. It's worth buying the Campbell's brand beef consommé no matter what you're using it for. WalMart has it at a great price (way cheaper than the market) and it's a staple in our house!

I add this to the slow cooker when I make a beef roast along with a packet of onion soup mix. Very tasty!

We use this to make stick of butter rice and also French dip sandwiches. Both are delicious and we love this!!!

If you want to kick up the savory and rich flavor of slow cooker beef based dishes, add a can of Campbell's Condensed Beef Consomme. You can leave out salt and just blow out that beef flavor. It saves you from searing and goes great with anything beef based that you are making. Pot roast, beef stew, beef and broccoli... the sky is the limit.

Purchased to use in a recipe. I did not taste it alone but did look at it and I would compare it to look like a beef stock . As for as the taste in the recipe it did give a good beef flavor to my recipe

Excellent flavor! Very rich & delicious! Perfect base for French Onion Soup --- also wonderful as an Au Jus with a Roast Beef Po-boy ! Our families favorite by far!!

This I’ve never heard about until I ran across a recipe that intrigued me and I thought I would never find this but there it was at Walmart amazing stuff

BUTT, Every can is dented in some way. These were the culls sent to me. Every can, all 24 had a dent or 2 in the sides. None on the top or bottom. I may never do this again if this is what they are selling me at full retail price.
