Mix this with a small can of Carnation evaporated milk and you will have clam chowder that will compare with your favorite restaurant. Much better than the ready-to-heat versions.
This was a delicious meal. Had a wonderful taste. I am stocking up on this item. A quick meal that tastes like I worked on it for several hours.
Campbell's New England Clam Chowder gets 5 stars because it's rich, creamy, and full of classic clam chowder flavor with chunks of tender clams and hearty potatoes in every spoonful. The texture is thick and smooth without being too heavy, and the clams and veggies give it a nice bite. It always tastes fresh and satisfying, especially on a cold day, and the can's easy-open packaging makes it quick to heat up and enjoy. It's super versatile—you can eat it as-is, add extra clams or seasoning, or pair it with crusty bread for a cozy meal!
Being a New England native, this soup is a staple in my pantry. When I can't enjoy homemade chowder Campbell's is my go to. It's full of flavor and easy to prepare.
The serving size is good for two people to have lunch. The ingredients are always fresh and the flavor is consistently good. Campbell's packaging is easily recognized and has been a staple in many American homes for decades.
This original clam chowder is definitely a classic It isn't quote as chunky as the new version. But it still is satisfying on an empty stomach. Great on a cold winter's day.
Campbell's Clam Chowder is a convenient, pantry-staple option for those craving a classic New England-style soup without the effort of homemade cooking. The soup has a creamy base with a mild seafood flavor and a satisfying blend of soft potatoes and tender clams. It's not overly fishy, which may appeal to more casual chowder fans. That said, the chowder leans on the saltier side, and some may find it lacks the depth or richness of a freshly made version. The clams are a bit sparse, and the texture is more uniform than rustic—but again, that's to be expected from a canned soup.
I am thankful that I was able to order online as none of the stores in this area had any in stock. One of my husband's favorite soups and one of the few things that he still has a taste for since his cancer treatments. This would have gotten 5 stars if the packaging for shipping had been better. The package arrived with the cans just thrown into an oversized cardboard box with a bit of paper wadded up on top as shown in the photos. Cans are dented, some far worse than others. Visual inspection of the cans does not appear that the integrity of the seal has been compromised on any of the cans, particularly the ones with the pop top. But I will only be able to tell for sure when I open up a can to serve. So disappointed with the packaging for shipping that I will rethink any future orders for canned goods that are no longer available at the store. Definitely a failure for online grocery ordering. Rethinking making and canning my own food items in the future.
I was hoping this would give me a pick me up during the flu. I was disappointed to have sand in several bites. Nothing like fresh New England Chowder.
If you are interested in paying $8.72 for one (1) can of Campbell's soup more power to you! I ordered a 6 pack of Progresso on the same order for $11.88 and thought the Campbells was also for a 6 pack. I was wrong and am returning the one can to get a refund. I would like someone to explain to me why one can of soup is $8.72 if you can. Thanks.
